WEIRDOS IN THE WOODS OPEN STUDIO! TODAY NOON-4:PM

126 Tongore Rd, Stone Ridge, NY

Jenna Marie Diliberto is an interdisciplinary artist, bio-regional folk herbalist, medicine maker, farmer/gardener/forager and intuitive somatic tarot reader based in Kingston, NY. She offers private readings and public workshops, where she collaborates with the archetypes of tarot and plants, symbolism sourced from dreamwork, and jungian depth psychology to tap into the deep well of wisdom within the collective unconscious.

This multifaceted web of work is all channeled through her project, Roses in the 12th House. Her material art practice is a collaboration with plant dyeing, block printing, embroidery, wool felting, appliqué, collage, mixed media, and endless invisible forces. She sources secondhand clothing and imbues the fabric with colors coaxed from flowers, tarot inspired block prints and hand embroidered symbols and poems. This work is fertilized by play, grief, prayer and a deep longing to connect with the landscape, the ancestors and Self. This art is for little Jenna.

This world is cold and everybody’s soul has been sucked up dry and sold-
Since the start of time spreads disease of the mind negativity has taken hold-
I need a warm shirt to put on my body
Went for a swim inside my body within
Decided to take a look around-
All I found was pain suffering
Gotta get out get out
I need a warm shirt to put on my body

Every poem title in the first chapter is a name with varying levels of hidden meaning. To find the title I cast my mind out like a fishing fly into the sky and pulled down what I could find. In this case, Icharus Lancelot Joviel, to represent the endless persistence of the cycle of life and death.

It’s here, it’s available, it’s for you. Love is all there is, and that’s what this book is about. That’s what it’s all about. For a book with totally original stream of consciousness illustrations, head to my website. Otherwise this tome of poems can be found online at Barnes & Noble. Thank you and I love you.

The first poem in my first book, All the Air in the Room, and invitation into the unknown. Fear not, for we are all one.
