It’s been a while since we caught up with a makeup artist, and revisiting our ‘Mirror, Mirror’ feature, we talk to SFX artist Shania Schifferling @paintedbynia to see her very own perspective on finding beauty in creepy things 😱✨

From mesmerizing mermaid scales inspired by the Queen Triggerfish to the organic chaos of fungi, Shania’s work is an editorial spin on nature’s wildest forms 🧬💥

“My inspirations mostly come from nature. I incorporate pre-existing living things and creatures with my own fantasy spin. Bio-morphism plays a big role in my work!”
