The astonishing Pamela Z speaks on KQED's Forum about New Music and the Other Minds Festival.

@pamelazed is a computer in residence at the @pwchorus and is currently composing a piece for us. She worked with us in rehearsal earlier this fall.

It was great to hear this rebroadcast after an afternoon with a local book club discussing my latest novel. The Lakeview Suite.

If you like hearing about experimental music, try The Lakeview Suite. One of the main characters composes in this space. I've drawn on my experiences working with experimental composers while singing with the PWC to create the character of Candice. She's a complicated woman creating some very interesting works.

Feel free to reach out if you're interested in book club events, too

RENDERED VOICE_day of experimental vocal music_2026 is happening on November 14 at @skissernasmuseum

A full day of concerts and interdisciplinary works exploring the voice as an instrument, tradition and discursive object.

- Initial lineup announcement -

Pamela Z (US) in solo concert

Jonathan Chaim Reus (US/NL) & Jaap Blonk (NL) presenting Bla Blavatar vs Jaap Blonk

Nik Rawlings and Ania Varez (UK) presenting breathing.systems

Sarah Buchner (DE/DK) with ensemble presenting a puppet play in several parts

- Maybe more to come <3 -

This year I have the pleasure of working with both artists whose works I've followed and admired for a long time, along with artists returning to Rendered Voice, expanding from previous solo performances to presenting large scale ensemble works.

Schedule and more info coming soon

Made possible by support from the City of Lund and Region Skåne, as well as by collaboration with the Museum of Sketches

Apparently, while I was inside the concert at West Oakland Sound Series my little Fiat 500 made a friend.
