Market day is today’s prompt at @lovemyfrenchstyle. Who doesn’t love a French market? This is our local market and it’s been a wonderful place to shop during the pandemic as of course it’s all outside. Everyone is a good citizen and wears a mask, the stalls are well spaced with more queuing room and of course, we get to support local small businesses.
With the sun and the spring blossom, it’s a lovely place to shop.
Swipe for more pictures and the list of prompts for the rest of the month. Do follow the hashtag #lovemyfrenchstyle for more pictures of French inspired loveliness from all over the world and use it on your pictures to share them with this growing friendly community of lovers so France and French style.

Raison d’être is the prompt @lovemyfrenchstyle today. A great French expression. What is your reason for being?
A sunny stroll through the orchard reminded me of my raison d’être, to restore this rather ramshackle old French house into a glorious home and tend the land in harmony with nature.
We’ve already planted thousands of daffodils, weaving like a river of spring gold through the ancient apple trees, they will spread and thicken over the years to come.
Share your raison d’être with us @lovemyfrenchstyle, follow the hosts Sharon @sharonathomeincorreze Jillian @myfrenchtownhouse Donna @mrshollandhome and me, Helen @quintessentiallyfrench as well as our lovely guest host this week Chrissie @noaandboo

21 février - Brocante style
What would you look for at the brocante? Books, textiles, dishes, all sorts of pictures. Those are some of the old things I would want.

Thank you so much to all the hosts of #lovemyfrenchstyle for the inspiring prompts. Tomorrow it’s SUGAR AND SPICE.

Brocante style is the prompt today from @lovemyfrenchstyle and it’s hard to define! I love looking at the enormous wardrobes that dominate the local brocantes wishing I could find a place for them...I’m still hoping to find some antique bed heads instead of resorting to IKEA so I have an excuse to potter! It’s the little tiny things that appeal too and more often or not it’s these that do find a place in my home, as well as some beautiful linens and gorgeous transferware! #renovation #myfrenchhome #myfrenchcountryhome #myhomeinfebruary #myfrenchtownhouse #shabbychic #vintage #vintagestyle #frenchstyle #vintagedecor #antique #homedecorating #myvintageabode #myperiodhomestyle #myhousethismonth #cornerofmyhome #housetohomestory #anewlifebegins #decorcircle #myperiodhomestyle #myseasonalstyling #mydailyrenovation #myhouseismycastle #mysimplystyledsquares #beautifuldecorstyles #periodliving #myheartandhomestyle #visionsofvintage #cosyvintagelife #lovemyfrenchstyle #inspiringhomesquares

20 février - Morning coffee
Happy Saturday! I have a random question. When you go to a restaurant, how do you feel about servers saying “Enjoy!” when they set your food in front of you? It annoys the heck out of me. To be clear, I love to hear « Bon appétit » in a French restaurant. 🤷🏼‍♀️

#lovemyfrenchstyle continues tomorrow with the prompt BROCANTE STYLE. Play along and show off your vintage treasures!

Blossom from the trees, Spring is on it’s way here in south west France. I picked a few stems as I walked through the vineyards yesterday evening and what could be nicer to accompany my morning coffee then the scent of blossom.
The prompt today from @lovemyfrenchstyle is morning coffee...are you a coffee or tea person? #myheartandhomestyle #weeklyposychallenge #pursuepretty #myfrenchhome #myfrenchcountryhome #shabbychic #vintagedaily220d #vintagestyle #vintagedecor #myvintageabode #vintagedecortour #visionsofvintage #cozyvintagelife #myperiodhomestyle #myhouseismycastle #maisonfrancais #rusticfrench #flowersfriendsflourish #vintageacrosstheglobe #myvintagecottagestyle #myhomesweetvintagehome #flowersmakemehappy #underthefloralspell #moodforfloral #budsbloomsandblossoms #lovemyfrenchstyle #blameitonmyvintageheart #housetohomestory #inspiringhomesquares #emmabridgewater

19 février - Timeworn
My little Degas dancer was a curbside find! If you’ve followed me for a while, you’ve seen her before. I like her enough to show her again. What can I say?

Tomorrow’s prompt for #lovemyfrenchstyle is MORNING COFFEE! Play along. You know you’re going to have that coffee!

Timeworn is the prompt today from @lovemyfrenchstyle - it was so hard to decide what to share. One of the pleasures of being in France is pottering around vide greniers and brocantes and finding little treasures that need a new home. This little comport is one of my finds - it may have a chip and be crazed but add a few flowers or pile it up with fruit and it is transformed. It makes me wonder about the person who initially choose it and all those who have loved it through its lifetime.

Wherever in the world you are we would love to see your own French style and you could be our guest host next week. Just use the hashtag #lovemyfrenchstyle in your pictures and stories follow @lovemyfrenchstyle and tag at least one of the hosts as well as our lovely guest host so we see your pictures.

18 février - Crystal
My mother and father got married in 1941, and in those days brides selected their patterns for china, silver and crystal. My mom’s crystal pattern was Rosepoint by Cambridge glass. I inherited the delicate glassware, and I have added a few pieces over the years. Jennifer @homepreserved recently did a fabulous story about Depression glass, and she mentions this kind of glass that is called elegant glassware of the Depression era. It was sold in department stores, and Cambridge was just one of many companies that manufactured it. My parents’ dishes were almost certainly purchased at John A. Brown, a wonderful store in downtown Oklahoma City. Most were gifts, given to them as wedding gifts and also on other occasions through the years. They never completed the set, and the stemware is an odd assortment of glasses referred to as water, sherbet, wine and other goblets. I use the candy dishes for M&Ms in holiday colors. I highly recommend that you go to Jennifer’s highlights if you want to learn more about Depression glass.

This is a double hashtag post for #vintageacrosstheglobe and #lovemyfrenchstyle. Thank you to the hosts of both hashtags for the inspiration!
