I had the opportunity to work the Newport jazz and folk festivals and honestly these six days changed the way I look at my future and my whole plan for it, it made me realize that I can’t wait any longer to do what I love and that I’m in my full element when i’m doing it and I LOVE IT even if I’m dead tired.

I felt feelings about things that I thought I stopped caring about a long time ago and I could feel my younger self showing into the woman I am today and that made me feel a lot that I literally can’t describe but I did cry my heart out of joy because of it and GOD only knows what I can’t say and I am so grateful for this experience and for everyone I met during it, and for @legacycollectiveri for introducing this opportunity to me and for @sopa.productions for giving me this opportunity, no matter how much I say I can’t truly describe the impact of it on me in so many ways and I am extremely grateful and forever blessed and highly favored Elhamdulilah ❤️❤️❤️

These photos mark 6 years since my first job at Newport Festivals 🤯 🎥

It’s been wonderful to be a part of this community and I’m feeling extra inspired after this year 🌟

Looking forward to continuing to grow and flourish with this badass team! 🌻

I went to the memorial of a close friend yesterday - Ozzie Martinez passed away. He was sixty-seven years old. I grew up next to him when I was twenty-two to thirty-five in what seems like a different life. Our dogs were friends and thought that we should be friends too, and they were right. He was sixteen years older than me and filled with experience, history, stories, and endless kindness. He became a big part of my life, a friend, a mentor, a collaborator. Ozzie Martinez was a true artist. - We wrote seventy-seven songs together, self-produced three albums, and even managed to smash a guitar on stage at CBGB’s in a wild band called Swinger Eight that stuck it out for eight years. And then a few years later, we worked together again on an irreverent comedy web-series where Ozzie’s character turned into the best part. I did things with this guy that I would never have done if I didn’t know him, and I’ve never made as much “stuff” just to make stuff with anyone. And, I’d like to think that our dogs were quite pleased by all this too. – I’ll see you later big brother, save me a spot at the bar…

This past Friday the Senior Film Class was visited by award-winning DP and Director Chris Piazza, who marveled them all with stories from his multifaceted career. The real world advice and insight was invaluable, and for Mr. Bridenstine, who has known and worked with Chris for over 20 years, it was a welcome visit from a friend. “Be nice” was the phrase of the day and Chris was exactly that. Our huge thanks for coming!
