So it’s been a week now since I finished Boulder Field 50k in White Haven Pennsylvania. I’ve intended on sharing about it every day since, but I just hadn’t found the words for it yet. Usually I run a race simply to see if I can do it. I like to run things so crazy I don’t know if I can even finish. This race was different though. This was about helping a whole crew of my sober friends find something new that they didn’t know they had in them. It was also about me finding a rhythm to get back to running after the birth of our boys, but that was kind of secondary to seeing what this race was able to do for my friends. I had sprained my ankle about a month before, and it really wasn’t ready for the beating I knew I would get from the technical terrain of Rocksylvania. It was still a great time in nature making new friends and kicking dirt. I always feel weird posting this stuff. I don’t do this for anyone’s attention, but I do always want to inspire others to get out of their comfort zone and really live life to the fullest. To the Street Loyal Running Crew: I’m beyond proud of what you’ve all done e. Thanks for filling my cup.
