I wanted a bomber pattern in my box of tricks so I bought a thrift shop jacket and went from there. copying garments has been invaluable to my understanding of shape away from blocks and flat pattern making. Alice @paperclothcut has been an amazing mentor and teacher to me in this process and many others. Alice regularly runs workshops in Perth and beyond in this technique and many others. Highly recommend, she’s a master of shape 🙌🙌 This is my toile/trial in cheap spotlight corduroy. Good Thursday from Udaipur my friends. Here’s a few random India shots I may or may not have already shown you. We’re heading back to Jaipur tomorrow for a couple of days. It seems there may be a few items to shop for that didn’t get shopped for before. Never let it be said that I let my groups go home empty handed, they’re always very generous in supporting the local economy. I find every group has their idiosyncrasies - some rate and photograph toilets, many become chai connoisseurs and more than one group have developed a hankering for breakfast time gulab jamuns. This group have proven themselves to be talented and focused shoppers, productive knitters and don’t mind a warm brownie at the appropriate moment. They don’t complain when squashed in a tuk tuk, jammed in a giant jeep, or confined to the bus for a long drive. Oh, and they can belt out a power ballad at a rooftop restaurant word perfectly. Good eggs, one and all. If you think you’ve got what it takes to come on tour, do get in touch, we have a few places in November’s tour available and more itineraries coming soon.
