I’ve been on the course from a very young age, and I have been playing competitively for the last seven years. I’ve always loved how golf brings me out into nature and closer to my dad and brother. God has used golf to develop my character throughout my life—and through healthy competition and learning the art of the game, I have become who I am today.

When I am called to be better at anything I do, I become better.

I enjoy being a leader on the teams that I have had the privilege of playing on, and traveling the country to play in different tournaments.

The tenets of golf stay with me in every part of my life, even off the course.

TOP 5 HORROR FILMS – Queer Wedding Edition! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️

5. “Hey Brides!” posts – It should be obvious by now that not every wedding has a bride, and some have two! Even if a couple presents as cis/het, that doesn’t mean the bride is making every wedding decision.

4. All-Inclusive Venues – Do they all suck? Of course not. But as a whole, all-inclusive venues tend to have a “that’s just how we do things here” attitude that often doesn’t work for queer folks (or any non-traditional celebration.)

3. “Doing it all for HIS Glory ✝️” in the vendor bio – Y’all don’t come for me. I’m absolutely NOT saying that you can’t be an inclusive vendor while also caring deeply about your faith. What I am saying is that there are far more people using religion to justify hate than love, especially now. So if it’s super important for you to profess your faith on social media, you’d better be just as loud about inclusivity. Otherwise we’re going to assume you’re one of the bad ones.

2. “Bride & Groom names” in the intake form – or anywhere else unless it refers to specific people who identify with those titles. We’ve been over this.

1. 99% of everything wedding being pre-printed with Bride, Groom, Mr. & Mrs. – Pretty self explanatory and it’s annoying af. Certain brands have started selling those items separately in an effort to make more mo— I mean be more inclusive. Cool, but what about my trans and non-binary friends who don’t identify with any of those titles?
Maybe you’re thinking “who wants any of that premade junk anyway?” For some abilities, budgets, and time-constraints, premade is the only option. Also, try having to DIY or custom order every single shower or bach party item because the only Bride + Bride on @amazon is tacky rainbow shit. (No shade if you’re into that, there were definitely rainbows at our wedding.)

Whew. I’m pretty sure I could write a book on all this. Anyway. These are just a few things that sucked as a queer bride and piss me off even more as a wedding planner.

What would you add?
