Yesterday Carla and began our drive to Miami to hang out for a bit before we head to Australia🇦🇺🦘 This summer has been one for the books and the friendships I’ve made these past two years are ones that I will cherish for a lifetime.❤️

Coming back up to the city for one final epic party next month before starting this new chapter. @paradom_ and @jkrikheli are gonna continue to hold down @eavesdrop.recs while I’m away and the music doesn’t stop. See you down under ✌🏼

Another summer in the books. I’ve finally had a second to breathe after how crazy the first half of this year was, and I’ve never felt better about the direction I’m going.

The unfortunate reality for a lot of young artists who get a little motion is that the industry immediately tries to push you into a pipeline. From what I’ve experienced, that pipeline is the complete opposite of what this music claims to be about.

It’s the “rocket ship” to the top: bigger crowds, more streams, more money, more followers. They shove the shiny objects in front of you and send you on your way before you’ve even had a chance to figure out what you actually want. Especially in the U.S., young artists seen as “commercially viable” are pushed down that pipeline before they’ve had the space to understand themselves, learn where this music comes from and connect with it, or build something authentic. They’re already trying to sell you before you’ve had a chance to grow roots. I won’t let that happen.

I’m really glad I’ve had the space these past few months to reassess where I want to go, reflect on how the sounds I grew up loving are being used today, and think more deeply about myself and the community I want to be part of and contribute to. @shantymane and I have been working on something that means a lot to both of us, and I can’t wait to share more soon.

I’m incredibly grateful to all of you for following along and supporting what I’m doing. I want to do right by this scene, this music, and the people who came before me. I promise to always keep this real.

Needed to get a bit deep for a second. Now it’s time to have some fun 🙂‍↕️
