Copper Tapestry, Valentin Avon
The association of textile and metal fibers. Symbiosis of Things is a collection exploring the development of a hybrid material that provides the flexibility of textile with the structural qualities of copper and steel. Developed in collaboration with @textielmuseum, the project reappropriates a jacquard machine to weave metal fibers and yarn. The outcome is a tapestry and three structural objects that demonstrate the diverse possibilities of this new material, that is both textile and metal.

🐟 Graduation project “The Fish In You” 🐟
Design Academy Eindhoven DDW 2024

“THE FISH IN YOU” embodies a dialogue-based video game crafted to challenge prevailing misconceptions and prejudices surrounding fish.
Fish, unlike other vertebrae, are the most alien and unfamiliar to us, which has cemented their role in human culture as a species primarily meant to be caught and consumed. By endowing fish with agency and affording players the unique opportunity to engage in meaningful discourse with an animal that appears mute to us, the goal is to change people’s perspective on fish and make them realize they are worth protecting.
At the heart of this transformative experience lies the cultivation of empathy – through inviting participants to take part in this immersive conversation and exploration within the game, the capacity to identify with fish grows, nurturing a deeper connection and appreciation.
