We showed at the prestigious @iffklive IDSFFK
Since I couldn’t travel back, our rockstar angel @revathyasha took up the baton and represented @aasmanithefilm
I am so fortunate to not only have her as my heroine but also her incredible love & blessing. She leads our pack with so much grace.
Missed meeting the amazing folks and filmmaker in Kerala. Been meaning to go for so many years now.
Thank you to the entire team for their love & support.

So many years after Jadavpur University days, we are still together. Not in classrooms anymore, but on WhatsApp. Scattered across cities and continents, sharing life's little victories, anxieties, memes and midnight conversations.

Every four years, though, something magical happens. Argentina. Brazil. Portugal. England. Norway. Allegiances are drawn, friendships are tested, and the group turns into a glorious battlefield of banter, trolling and impossible predictions.

Somehow, in our 40s, the World Cup still keeps us awake the way it did in our 20s. That's the real trophy.

What a carnival it's been!

And yes... told you last night. It would be Bellingham's might. The Vikings would be slayed. 😉⚽

🏳️‍🌈 CELEBRATE PRIDE THROUGH CINEMA 🏳️‍🌈

What does “home” mean when the world refuses to make space for you?

🎬 Watch Ek Jagah Apni (A Place of Our Own), an award-winning film by Ektara Collective, this Pride Month.

Through the lives of Laila and Roshni, the film invites us to witness their struggles, aspirations, resilience, and search for a place they can truly call their own.

After being suddenly evicted by a prejudiced landlord, Laila and Roshni set out on a difficult search for a place to live. Along the way, they confront questions of identity, acceptance, and belonging.

📩 Comment or DM Ektara Collective to receive the film screener and organize a screening.

💜 Join us in creating spaces for dialogue, empathy, and reflection.

Children in films can make or break a film. When it came to the casting for the 10 year old firecracker for our @aasmanithefilm we knew it was the biggest piece in the film that needed to work. A protagonist who had to stand side by side to the indomitable @revathyasha
Months of looking.. one night just like that @minimathur suggested Daria. She assumed I would know her or her parents but I didn’t. Immediately got in touch with Daria’s mom. The next day we met. I feel in love in the first 10 seconds. I knew she was our Tiya. She read with me and although I knew she’s the one, didn’t tell her immediately. Told her the next day on video call where she cried. She wanted it so bad. She wasn’t an actor when I met her. But she was the most magical creature. We workshopped for 6 months. Yes, 6 months of her life she gave me. And her parents allowed. We became like family.
On the third day of shoot I saw her transform into an actor on shot. It was like watching a flower bloom in real time. It was peak heat but I got chills with all my hair standing up. It was magic in real time. And she owned every second of being Tiya. She knew every word in the script. The most professional actor and the most fun!
I have found a friend for life and the world has found an actor to reckon with.

Congratulations to all the fabulous actors here. Each one, so beautiful. So much depth and talent. Absolutely incredible.
Thank you @nyindianfilmfest for recognising these amazing talents. 💫

Coming up for air with family before we hit the road again with Aasmani 🚙. How can we take flight without a warm hug from the people responsible for me!

Also taking a beat for the people I’ve earned in my life. A moment that I pause in my stride to just look at this room.. filled with so much love and warmth.

The first shot - an OTS of my teacher hugging me.
The OTS - Over Vishal sir and Sriram sir’s shoulders.
I mean.. 🐣)

So much gratitude for this room. If you looked at my life, this is nothing short of a miracle.

To be directing the stunning @revathyasha in my first ever film is nothing short of a dream vision board. She is not just a brilliant actor but also one of the greatest humans one can ever know. What an absolute privilege and for her to be nominated for our @aasmanithefilm is the diamond 💎 crusting. For a short in all these beautiful actors in features. Ufff! ✨

My @harvard Speech.

Yes, it’s long. Almost 8 mins.
Yes, no one has the patience to watch anything anymore.
Yes, I wrote it on the flight to Boston that morning.
(Ever heard of last minute studies? That’s how I passed my exams all my life, and that’s what didn’t change even till the last minute.)
Yes, it’s the only speech I have given in my life, without even once saying it out loud before going on stage.
Yes, people cried in the audience.
Yes, it was nerve racking.
Yes, it will be worth the watch.
It warms up. I promise. 😮‍💨🤍🎖️
