The Echo Chamber — Andrea Pallaoro / Bernardo Bertolucci, Ilaria Bernardini & Ludovica Rampoldi. So much felt through the noise of silence. Stunning piece of art.

Other standouts: Hombre al agua — Gael García Bernal / Mariano Pensotti; Kvinde Ukendt — May el-Toukhy / Maren Louise Käehne; L’estranea — Paolo Strippoli / Salvatore De Chirico; and the Smithsonian Starstruck VR experience — James Elliott Mizroch.

Dreams Unfold Beyond the Self.

"A personal story article of how my dream evolved into one another, from music to making films in the netherlands.

A reminder to myself that my dreams are just an ever-evolving pathways to follow in life."

Bestiary — Director Notes:

This film was made a long time ago.

At the time, its director was still a young wunderkind who probably thought he knew what he was doing (Plot twist: he does not).

The film was intimate. It was strange. It was about sorrow, and about the things people carry with them after someone is gone.

Then we let it go.

It travelled to places we never expected. It was watched by people we never knew. And slowly, it became less about the people who made it and more about the people who found something of themselves in it.

After one of the premieres, an old woman came up to the director. She spoke a language he didn't understand. He spoke a language she didn't understand.

But she wanted to thank him.
She told him that Bestiary reminded her of someone she had lost.

And for a moment, the person who made the film didn't really have anything to say. Because there she was, standing in front of him, carrying a feeling that had nothing to do with him anymore. She had made it hers.

I think that's one of the strangest things about making movies.

You spend so much time trying to make something mean something.

And then, if you're lucky, someone somewhere finds their own meaning in it.

Maybe that's why we make things in the first place. Maybe someone will see this, far away. Maybe they will feel something they thought only belonged to them.

And maybe, for a little while, they will feel understood.

Maybe that's what happens when you make something.

You let it go. And sometimes, it travels farther than you ever could ever imagine.

Someone once asked us what a Director actually does.

Some say they are the stewards of modern storytelling?
Some say they are just crazy people, who are so insane, they manifest entire worlds out of imaginations?

The honest answer is:

Nobody really knows.

Some spend years staring at the horizon thinking about liminal spaces.
Some disappear into the wilderness with a camera and no plan.
Some make entire films just to point out how ridiculous society is.
Some can find beauty in literally anything.
Some somehow make impossible productions land on time.
Some stare into the cosmic void.
Some lock characters in rooms and make everything go horribly wrong.
Some make you call your parents afterwards.

Anyway.

We cherish the Directors of the Round Table at our Order ⚔️🎥

A collective roster of filmmakers united by camaraderie, questionable life choices, and the persistent belief that stories are worth making.

Swipe through their legend:
Sir Julio Rionaldo
Sir Amarl Al Kautsar
Sir Bahreisy Imaadudien
Dame Serena Arsletta
Sir Farhan La Galigo
Sir Yeremia Kevin
Sir Ega Aditya
Sir Abirama Mahendra
You might find your favorite boss fight.

And if you're carrying a story of your own, we're always looking for future Directors ;)

Bestiary: An Anomaly of Form and Feeling.

Bestiary feels difficult to categorize. It begins in one tradition, moves toward another, and is grounded in a context that doesn’t fully belong to either. The result is something that feels familiar in parts, but never entirely predictable.

From the very first shot, the film already establishes a tone and atmosphere that feels closer to Ingmar Bergman, Michael Haneke, or Andrei Tarkovsky. There’s a seriousness to how the film holds its character, and it doesn’t ease that pressure.

It opens with weight. The tone is controlled, restrained, and emotionally dense. The pacing is patient in a way that demands attention rather than inviting it.

Then, gradually, something shifts.

Not in tone, but in form.

What also complicates things is the film’s identity. On a formal level, it leans into a European arthouse tradition. But the world it exists in, the textures, the social dynamics, the way characters carry themselves, all of that feels distinctly Southeast Asian.

That combination shifts how everything lands.
