في خضم أصعب محادثة قد تجريها مع أطفالك، من السهل أن تلجأ إلى الصراحة دون أن تدرك ما الذي يسمعه الطفل فعلياً بين ثنايا كلماتك. تحدد "كوميسار" عبارات معينة يجب تجنبها؛ فلا تقل أبداً: "لم أحب أمك قط"، أو "لم أحب أباك قط"، أو "ليتني لم أتزوج ذلك الشخص". إنها توضح تماماً ما يستوعبه الطفل من هذه الكلمات؛ فهي ليست مجرد معلومات عن الزواج، بل استنتاج يخص الطفل نفسه، مفاده أن الحب الذي أدى إلى وجوده لم يكن حقيقياً، وأنه ما كان ينبغي له أن يولد من الأساس. يحتاج الأطفال إلى معرفة أنهم وُلدوا نتيجة للحب، وحتى في حالات الزواج التي تنتهي بالانفصال، لا ينبغي محو هذه الحقيقة. تؤكد الأبحاث التي أجريت على أبناء المطلقين مدى سهولة تملك مشاعر لوم الذات لهؤلاء الأطفال. فقد وجدت دراسة طولية تابعت أطفالاً خلال الأشهر الثمانية عشر الأولى بعد انفصال والديهم، أن أولئك الذين تولدت لديهم مشاعر لوم الذات أظهروا تدنياً في تقدير الذات، وزيادة في الأعراض النفسية والمشاكل السلوكية، مقارنة بالأطفال الذين لم يتبنوا هذا النوع من لوم الذات. إن ما يسمعه الطفل في هذه المحادثات المبكرة يمكن أن يشكّل الطريقة التي يتعامل بها مع واقع الطلاق لسنوات تالية. لا يتعلق الأمر هنا بتصوير الزواج على غير حقيقته، بل بحماية طفلك من تكوين قناعة خاطئة حول قيمته الذاتية؛ قناعة لم تكن صحيحة يوماً ولم يكن عليه تحمل عبئها. الحقوق: الفيديو: @chriswillx - Modern Wisdom المتح�
