Connecting people to be the church in the neighborhood
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Inhabit 2026 with @parishcollective. 30 quick hours (for me) but we packed it in. @jpaek called us "People who belong in the spiritual underground," which rang true. This is a place where I am free to be. A place where I see healthy friendship modeled between all people. We cart rocks around in our pockets because we know everything is connected. We sit rapt in our seats and learn about lichen. We say things like, "I stopped packing my lunch because I realized my neighbors were going to keep feeding me." Dr. Willie James Jennings (!!!) spoke about seeking presence in places that seem desolate - I'll be sitting with that. There's nothing overly earnest about this community and not a platitude in sight. Just honesty and care.

*A couple years ago I tricked my friends into eating Taco Bell with me. This year Majora and I raced to my favorite Goodwill on planet earth only to be thwarted by a gigantic May Day rally. (The signs: Fund Communities Not War 👏🏽👏🏼👏🏻) But there was Puerto Rican food and birthday songs and one of my favorite singers belting out one of my favorite octave changes of all time. Hugs and prosecco and murals and back streets. Thanks be to the God of wonder and mystery. ✨
