Congratulations to all the amazing staffers from the Talisman and the College Heights Herald for being named both Multiplatform Pacemaker Finalists as well as finalists for hthe print editions!

Recent wins from the past month!

The photos shown are from the Indiana Professional Chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists’ awards banquet, where I won five awards, including three first places (feature photography, sports photography and multiple picture group), the CatchLight Visual Storytelling Summit in San Francisco and the Indy 500 race weekend.

Through CatchLight and Report for America, I also have photos in an exhibit called “A Portrait of America,” which is being shown in London at Photo London and in New York at Photoville. It has been wonderful building a bond with the other photojournalism fellows and corps members this year! Having my work showcased alongside theirs is an honor!

I am incredibly thankful for the support from @mirrorindy, @catchlight.io and @report4america! Visual journalism plays a vital role in showcasing our community, and I am grateful to help tell the stories of Indianapolis.

I graduated about a week and a half ago from Western Kentucky University’s visual journalism and photography program. Attending WKU was very clearly part of God’s plan for my life as I had the opportunity to be shaped by so many incredible friends, classmates, and acquaintances. I always thought it was cheesy when people say they learned more about themselves in college but the experiences and people around me helped me understand that statement.

I’m so excited to use this experience at WKU for whatever is next in my life!
