On September 12, the Cotton Bowl hosted something special. 🏈 The inaugural Roland Parrish Classic (@parrishclassic) brought four state championship programs to Fair Park: DeSoto vs. Duncanville and South Oak Cliff vs. North Shore. The Parrish Charitable Foundation (@parrishcharitablefoundation) also hosted expos on college, careers and financial empowerment, health and wellness, STEM, and voter registration, connecting students and families with resources right in the stands. It was a day North Texas won't forget. 💙 #rolandparrishclassic #dallastx #fairpark

This past Saturday, PV Extension’s Community and Economic Development unit showed up at the Cotton Bowl Stadium in Dallas for the inaugural Parrish Classic, and we showed out. At the Career and Financial Empowerment Expo, CED North Texas, representing Tarrant, Dallas, and Kaufman counties, educated attendees about our business programs, provided housing and youth entrepreneurship resources, and registered people for our respective B.I.D. Academies. We proudly gave insight to all of the work PV Extension is doing throughout our communities and the state. I had the privilege of meeting Senator Royce West and Mr. Roland Parrish, and I made sure they both knew exactly what PV Extension is building across North Texas and what our programs mean for the people we serve. And I will be honest: I proudly pointed out to anyone who would look all of the PVAMU flags around the Cotton Bowl Stadium. You just can’t help it when you see your university represented at that level! To top it all off, my alma mater, DeSoto High School, won their game. That made the whole day even sweeter (sorry Edwin, lol)! A big thank you to Mr. Roland Parrish and the Parrish Charitable Foundation, Rodney Baker, and Chase Martin for creating the space and making the inaugural Parrish Classic what it was. Thank you to the entire event team for giving organizations like ours the opportunity to connect with the community at this level. And a huge thank you to my CED team: Dr. Henry, Dr. Peterson, Talia Washington, Edwin Crittendon, and Alexis Horne. Thank you to IIC and CAFNR Marketing and Communications for putting together our CED video that was shown on the jumbotrons at the Cotton Bowl Stadium. Seeing our work on those screens was something else entirely! Excited for everything to come! #cedtarrantcountyextension #pvamu #pvextension #parrishclassic

LIKE FATHER & LIKE SON - SOME MOMENTS ARE BIGGER THAN SPORTS!!!🔥🔥🔥 The Parrish Family’s legacy Mr. Roland Parrish and Ro Parrish was amazing to see and experience! These great men of excellence, service, education, and opportunity blessed The League’s commentating table with sharing their heart on the game, the community and why making a lasting impact on generations to come is a mission they live in action! It was an honor for The League to be part of the inaugural Parrish Classic @parrishclassic @parrishcharitablefoundation @roparrish bringing families, athletes, schools, and community together around a vision that is bigger than the game. This is legacy. This was community. This is impact. The League is ALL IN. 🏆 #ParrishClassic #TheLeague #Legacy #CommunityImpact #NextGeneration

That’s the way the ball bounces. @desotoeaglesfb got back in the win column with a wild game on Saturday at the #thecottonbowl. Their star RB played QB and scored all three TD’s. With mere minutes left in the game, a goal line is fumble into the end zone was recovered by Duncanville but the PAT was blocked, giving the Eagles a 21-20 victory over Duncanville. Despite the early season missteps and talking points, these two teams showed they’ll be just fine when district play rolls around this week! For their part, #theparrishclassic was one for the books and the expo had something for everyone in the family! We hope to do it again next year! Get over to www.soulprospermedia.com to read our reporting and see our photo gallery from the game. #txhsfb

6th Annual Roland Parrish Celebrity Golf Tournament | Presented by Mark Cuban Over the last few years, I’ve been blessed to build a relationship with Mr. Roland Parrish that has grown far beyond business. He’s become a mentor, a supporter and someone I’ve learned a lot from simply by watching how he moves. What I respect most is that his success has never just been about him. He continues to pour back into the community, invest in young people, support education and use what he’s built to create opportunities for others. He’s also been a consistent supporter of The Franchise Game and our vision to create more access and opportunity within franchising. That’s why having Feng Cha participate in the 6th Annual Roland Parrish Celebrity Golf Tournament was personal for me. We had the opportunity to serve more than 200 golfers, celebrities, business leaders and community supporters, introduce them to Feng Cha and be part of an event that ultimately helps the Parrish Charitable Foundation provide scholarships and opportunities for deserving students. This is what full circle looks like. Relationships. Mentorship. Community. Business. Purpose. Thank you, Mr. Parrish, Rodney Baker and everyone else that made this happen 🙏🏿 Proud that Feng Cha could be a small part of something much bigger. 🧋⛳️
