This was the month I said goodbye to one of my best friends. It was a really beautiful month and every walk in nature I take I think of her. Love you Ashley

You always answered. You remembered. We laughed. We cried together. You were taken before we did everything. Thank you for days of wild raspberry picking, surprise Chicago visits and talking me through the darkest days of my divorce and losing my dad. You were a sparkly, raw, and caring. We were weird girls together. Passion runs rampant within us and you understood me. I’m so grateful for your unconditional love, support of my classroom, interest in my life, and sharing your daughter with me because I couldn’t have my own. I love you. Thank you for always showing up for me. I miss you already.

I haven’t posted here in a long time, and Ashley @parson_blue hasn’t either.

Several months ago, Ashley was diagnosed with cancer in her brain and spine.

The MRI on the left is from when everything started. The one on the right is from just over a week ago.

Almost all of the cancer is gone.

There’s still treatment ahead and still a lot unknown but this is the first time we’ve felt some relief in a very long time.

Thank you to everyone who’s been holding us up, whether you knew what was going on or not. It means more than we can say.
