It’s October tomorrow! Can you feel it? To get us in the Fest mood we welcome in Tom Fowler of Sleep In to the show to talk about their new record and Fest.

The New Jersey group has been around for nearly 15 years, they’ve played a couple of Fests and their new record “Tangled In The Vines” came out this past Friday.

Tom talks about the history of the band, the unique challenge of taking over as the new lead singer of the band during their early days, touring, the new record, and we check in to see what he remembers about Fest 14.

You can check out their new record now and you can see them in Jacksonville the Thursday before Fest and/or at the Heartwood on Saturday night in Gainesville.

Our new LP “Tangled In The Vines” is out everywhere today! We’re beyond stoked to finally share the entire album with everyone. This record means so much to us and we hope you love it as much as we do. 🌿🦩🌱🚬

Huge thank you to everyone who helped us along the way. @brianmietz has done the art for almost every release we’ve ever put out and this one is no exception. @dave_downham has mastered all three of our full lengths, and is the owner of @the_gradwell_house, where we’ve recorded the majority of our catalog. The place is truly legendary in South Jersey. Thanks to Joe at @chokeartistnj for loving our band and teaming up with us on the vinyl release. Thank you to Kevin at @part_time_pr for all his hard work on the roll out. Thanks @yourfriendbil for the unreal sax work. And thank you to our good friends @zaynayoussef @seanmccallxx and @david_osterhout for coming to hang at the studio and sing some parts for us. We’re so glad to have them all on this record.

If you’re in the Philly area, come celebrate the release with us on 10/9 at Ruba Club with our friends in @dryjacket and @pressurewheel. We can’t wait to play these songs live for you all. See you soon. 🍃

@pizzaboydave had to make a couple calls and pull some strings but we did in fact squeeze onto this 🤙🏻🤙🏻. In all sincerity, it can’t be overstated how much we love @kevinglenday and @part_time_pr; stoked to return 12/12!

The Blackburns are not dead. We are just briefly resting on the laurels of our brilliant second album ALTERNATIVE ROCK on @selltheheartrecords (still a few LP/CD copies available, same w tapes from @discountcemetery

While we puzzle out how to rock EVEN HARDER in 2027, we are going to briefly come out of hiding on December 11 to celebrate the power and glory of @part_time_pr with future best friends @hanaleisounds @massivenightmares and @thewarhawks (with whom, legend has it, Nick once sang a Clash song). And naturally we plan to sleep on the floor at @ortliebsphilly after the show so we can be assured of prime real estate for the @goddamnitband reunion on night 2.

Sound like a plan? No, it doesn’t just SOUND like a plan. It IS a plan. Right, @hearthereeverywhere and @analog_abe ?

“Jason Bourne Again” is out everywhere now, the last single from our upcoming LP “Tangled In The Vines”. 🌿🌱🍃

This one features our friend and honorary nephew David, Bikey, @david_osterhout of @bikeroutesnj. We’ve basically watched Dave grow up both as a human and as an artist for the last decade or so and we’re very stoked to have him sing on this track.

Just 3 more weeks until “Tangled In The Vines” is out. We can’t wait to share the whole record!

Our first single, Get Bent is live! This is the first release off our upcoming full length, Ain't My World (Vinyl pre-order is live!!). This has been over a year in the making and we couldn't be more proud of this record. Stay tuned for more singles in the next few weeks and grab a vinyl pre-order.

Couldn't have done this without our @trevor__reilly
capturing these tracks throughout 2025 and lending his voice and ear to so many songs on this record and Joe Reilly for the masters! @_alltreesareoaks & @black_numbers for making the vinyl and distro dream into a reality. Kevin at @part_time_pr for all the promo and PR support (can't wait for part time PR fest in December). Last but not least, @ebellz for the incredible album and single art. We love you, Ricky!

Let me know if you can hear @limondebeauvoir doing harmonies on get bent!
