6 days in North Carolina. First time golfing this far away from California, and Ivy’s first US Kids World Championship. 🌎⛳️

Practicing and playing three days of tournament golf from 4,236 yards in humid conditions that Ivy has never experienced as definitely challenging but she persevered.

Thank you to @u.s.kidsgolf for hosting such a great event, thank you to the staff for all the help and support, everything was awesome. Thank you to the golf course @quailridgegolfnc for hosting the Girls 10 Division and greens were in great condition as well as the course overall.💪🏻

Ivy had an amazing time meeting new talented friends and getting to see some familiar faces again!

The results weren’t what we were hoping for, but every tournament is a learning experience. Ivy learned a lot from playing on Bermuda grass for the first time, and now we know exactly what to keep working on. Time to go back home to keep working and onto the next one. 🔜

The quickest way to plateau? Only practicing what feels good. 🎯
I always tell them to MASTER their strengths and capitalize on them! If you have a natural feel for your short game or a pure tempo with your irons, double down on it. That’s your foundation and your confidence engine on the course.
But when it comes to practice structure, here’s the reality: you have to spend the hardest reps on the things you DISLIKE! Players dislike them because they are not confident and/or good at them.
Nine times out of ten, you don’t dislike a specific shot or drill because it’s boring—you dislike it because you’re not good at it yet. Frustration is just feedback showing you where your biggest scoring gains are hiding.
If you avoid your weak spots during practice, they will find you on the course when the pressure is on.

Master your strengths to keep your floor high.
Attack your weaknesses to push your ceiling higher.

What’s the one shot in your bag you’ve been avoiding practicing lately? Get to work! 🫵

🏌🏻‍♀️🌎 My First Callaway World Championship! 💙

I had so much fun at my very first Callaway World Championship! ⛳️

I met so many amazing golfers from different countries, and it was so much fun making new friends! 🌍💕

Watching everyone play inspired me to work even harder and keep chasing my dream.

This tournament taught me so much. I learned, listened, watched, and grew a lot—not only as a golfer, but as a person too.

I'm so thankful for this incredible experience and can't wait to come back even stronger next time! 💪✨

Thank you to everyone who made this week so special! ❤️

See you again soon! 😊⛳️

What an amazing two days at the @u.s.kidsgolf 2026 USKG Southern California State Invitational! ⛳️

Congratulations to @camden.hugolf , @zizi_townsend , and @leah_juangco_golf on your 🥇🥈🥉 finishes! You girls played so well! It was so much fun competing with such a talented group of girls in the 9–10 division. 💕

This was my very first two-day State Invitational, and I learned so much over both rounds. Every tournament teaches me something new, and I’m so grateful for the experience. Can’t wait for the next one! 💚⛳️

Sandy, but make it look easy. 🏖️⛳️
Most people see a bunker and panic—this 8-year-old sees a scoring opportunity. While we’re out here trying to remember “sand first,” @ just out here picking it clean with a 9-iron like it’s a standard fairway lie. And you gotta get there right? 😉
Who needs a 60-degree wedge when you have this kind of touch? 👍

The Breakdown:
• Club: 9 Iron
• The Move: Pure contact, zero ego.
• Result: Stone dead.

Drop a “🔥” if your sand game needs this kind of confidence!

You struggle in the catbox?? This tip will get you out and Slim your score! 💪

Cutting across the ball and falling back onto your trail side is a recipe for disaster in the sand. It leads to thin strikes, chunks, and zero consistency. To get tour-level results, you need a better path and synchronized timing.

Slim’s Fix: Path & Release
Instead of a “chopping” motion, focus on a shallower, more neutral path. When you combine this with a proper release of the clubhead, you allow the bounce of the wedge to do the work for you.

Speed & Balance
Don’t be afraid to create speed. Most amateurs quit on the shot, but the goal is to accelerate through the sand while staying completely balanced on the finish. If you can’t hold your finish, your timing was likely off.

💡 The Ultimate Bunker Cheat Code
The “Thump” & Turn: Focus on hitting the sand about 2 inches behind the ball with an aggressive thump, and ensure your chest finishes facing the target. Speed is your friend—as long as it’s balanced. #golf #golflife #instructor
