Every once in a while, we have a performance in which the crowd and the artists thrive off each other’s energy. Yesterday was one such evening. People who were there for the love of the music - chatty and interactive, yet respectful and non-intrusive. We started slow; But then the music flowed, and then it flew, and then it soared. The instrumentalists and the vocalist were in their element - wandering off into impromptu explorations. It was sometimes rough around the edges, but never not fun!
@adityaddutt finally decided to show off with an edgy solo; every crash of the cymbal a story in itself.
@shubh.vai ‘went off’ and tugged at quite a few heartstrings too in the process.
@vatsal.bakhda was into lab experiments, thrashing out funky sounds on the fly.
@tanishabhatnagar tied it all together with her restrained brilliance, sprinkling stardust all over.
@parvatimk , as she always does, ate and left no crumbs - dropped jaws all across the room.

We performed Jazz, Pop, Rock and a combination of all three; Bollywood made a guest appearance too for good measure. Three hours, four languages, five musicians and a whole lot of fun.

We are so back 🙂

How it all began… back in 2011, when @nikhilmawkin initiated it all with this song. This track vividly encapsulates his intention not only to blend diverse musical genres but also to craft something entirely unique through that fusion. Sometimes such innovative combinations happen serendipitously, while at other times they are inspired by a burst of creativity in the moment. In this particular recording, @parvatimk on vocals, @nikhilmawkin on drums, and @gaurav_chintamani on the guitar contributed their talents to create a memorable piece.

I thought @rajeshtailang was simply brilliant in Bandish Bandits 2 . Was told to watch his performance in Trial by Fire. I did, and I'm convinced he is one of the best actors in the country. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

@theleela ushered in a new chapter of Aujasya by The Leela, all about how wellness and nutrition are experienced in the luxury hospitality world, with a fun Masterclass at Le Cirque at @theleelapalacenewdelhi with Executive Chef Simran Singh Thapar. Here I was honoured to cook a dish with chef - he taught me how to prepare a red rice base cooked in coconut milk (our grain) along with protein in the form of a guac dip, beets for heart health, lightly tossed tofu, asparagus and sesame seeds sprinkled on top.
This forms the basis of Aujasya where each dish is deconstructed down to its elements to provide the right nutrition and trigger well being and also weight loss. Dr Ankita Jalori explained to us the efficacy of eating in this manner, something the chefs at The Leela have perfected. Ms Shweta Jain hosted CMO of The Leela and Zubair @zubairkalsia hosted us do beautifully, thank you! Thank you @parvatimk for the fab invitation to this one of a kind session - making healthy food with top chefs in a top world class hotel kitchen!! #aujasya #theleela

What could be better than a batch of home-made pickles by @ritz_spice ? TWO batches, yes, that's right!

Ten days ago, I felt like making some mango pickle. With the season for raw mangoes on its way out, I wondered how I could shop and organise everything. No, I didn't want anything store bought. I'd almost given up when I got a message from Ritu Kohli @ritz_spice.

She was preparing a variety of raw mango pickles, did I want any? I did, I answered, and in no time, there - at my door - was the classic Punjabi Aam ka Achar I'd been longing to eat.

One whiff, one bite, and I was a child again, standing in my mother's storeroom in front of the big glass jar of achar that Jasmine Aunty had made and sent Ma. I was back home all over again.

Batch Number Two arrived yesterday. Now just look at the variety. I know there are plenty more where these came from. Ritu's order list has about two dozen items. At our home, Ma would make as many varieties of pickles because our father enjoyed them so. Getting my teeth into Ritu's collection brings back the joy and abundance of those days.

The mustard (kasundi) is perfect, and we're putting it into egg salads and all our sandwiches. The garlic and chilli relish is full of surprises with its fresh little bursts of flavour in the mouth. The sweet mango pickle will disappear in a day or two. There is no picture of it because someone wanted to eat it while I was taking shots.

I could taste the love in every bite. Ritu makes each batch by herself from scratch, and she sources the ingredients with care, ensuring that they are pure and fresh.

The packaging is delightful, with the pretty labels that Ritu makes. She weighs out the pickles and bottles them herself.

If your mouth is watering at the sight of these pictures, dm @ritz_spice for her order list.
