𝒞𝒰𝒯𝐸 𝐵𝒰𝒯 𝒫𝒮𝒴𝒞𝐻𝒪 brings four performances, a film screening and a lecture by international artists who use humour, spectacle and discomfort to open questions about the social, political and technological systems that shape our everyday lives. From a trilogy narrated by Julia Fox to the performance of a bratty city pigeon, the all-day programme explores what happens when the irresistible and cute meets the disturbing and violent.

🕯 Nastavljamo CUTE BUT PSYCHO sezonu premijerom performansa i video instalacije francuske umjetnice kiki sauvaj!

tr<3gic mulata mlada je, umirovljena camgirl miješanog rasnog podrijetla koja izvodi predstave za samu sebe, u intimi vlastite spavaće sobe — showgirl u duši koja nikad nije stigla do pozornice.

Svoje privatne plesove snima osjećajući se privlačno, samouvjereno i seksi, a snimke nikad ne briše. Nakon susreta s njezinim snimljenim, tajnim digitalnim kabaretom, tr<3gic mulata oživjet će kroz performans i prvi se put suočiti s pogledom stvarne publike — otvarajući pitanja o tome tko gleda, tko je gledan, i kako digitalni prostori oblikuju tijelo, želju i identitet.

🕯 We continue our CUTE BUT PSYCHO season with the premiere of a performance and video installation by artist kiki sauvaj!

tr<3gic mulata is a retired camgirl of mixed racial origin who performs shows for herself alone, in the intimacy of her own bedroom — at heart a showgirl who never made it to the stage.

She films her private dances feeling attractive, confident, and sexy, and never deletes the recordings afterward. After encountering her recorded, secret digital cabaret, tr<3gic mulata will come to life through performance and, for the first time, face the gaze of a real audience — opening questions of who watches, who is watched, and how digital spaces shape the body, desire, and identity.

♠ kiki sauvaj is a dancer, performer, poet, and researcher whose dark, sensual fictions — working from the vocabulary of ballet and Afrofuturism 2.0 — explore alienation, post-memory, and the ways past experiences shape the present.

🎠 The program comprises solo exhibitions, a workshop series, and performances by international artists — new productions created specifically in response to the theme.

🔪CUTE BUT PSYCHO explores the emotional, superficial, and seemingly superfluous intensities of contemporary culture: the cute, the cringe, the zany, and the weird – content that circulates endlessly online. Vulnerable aesthetics that render the world adorable, janky, and hyper-interesting in an “I’ll-forget-this-in-two-seconds” kind of way.

HGB Festsaal

Die Abendakademie der HGB bietet jedes Semester Kurse für Bildende Kunst, Performance, angewandte und künstlerische Fotografie und Gestaltung für alle Interessierten ab 16 Jahre an.
Meisterschüler*innen der Hochschule stehen den Teilnehmer*innen als professionelle Kursleiter*innen zur Verfügung. In der gemeinsamen Sommerausstellung im Festsaal der HGB zeigen die einzelnen Kurse ihre Ergebnisse und öffnen sich dem Gespräch. Alle sind herzlich eingeladen!

Between the Acts is a group exhibition, workshop and letter program organized by Alicia Franzke, Kay Lotte Pommer and Laura Wichmann. The project brings together artistic positions that oscilliate stage performance and scenery construction. The focus is on moments in between: actions that mark neither beginning nor end, spaces that are neither private nor public, work that takes place to hold these actions and spaces up.

It is a play without a closed narrative – a sequence of scenes that bonds by imagination and agential glue. Between entrance and exit, seriousness and humor, we encounter feelings of irritation and familiarity.

We welcome you to 𝘣𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘹, the new radio format of Bistro 21, an art and project space located in Leipzig. With 𝘣𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘹, we want to test and stretch concepts of art mediation outside the exhibition space. Each show is explanation, continuation and something entirely autonomous at once.

The last months have been immensely beautiful and very challenging at the same time. Two weeks ago, my first stage production 𝑳𝑷 premiered at @tanzhausnrw and I still can’t fully believe it. I’m so deeply moved by what we created together. I’m still digesting and reflecting on everything that happened, both on and off stage. Biggest thank you to my team and all the effort and love to detail you put in ꨄ and to the team of tanzhaus, especially @lucie_ortmann @schausomat and @marishaai ꨄ I really hope we get to bring this piece to many more stages.

For now, the next performances will be in Cologne (Kalk), in a more experimental setting at @cccc.cologne . This edition will be something special and a little challenging. Stay tuned for more info and grab your tixxx (link in bio).

Artistic Producer & Public Relations
𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐚 𝐒𝐚𝐜𝐡ß𝐞 is a creative producer, singer, sound creator and performer. They are interested in producing immersive experiences that make one wander through one’s mind - while connect to concrete action and desires for change.

Vocal Dramaturg
𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐝𝐝ä𝐮𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚 𝐉𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐧 is a performer and journalist whose own artistic practice merges minimalist conceptual art with movement, subtle humor, and gentle provocation. As a vocal coach, Thaddäus explores the intersection of voice and movement as a space of resonance and embodiment, investigating how the body gives voice its depth — and how what is sung shapes the body in return.

Dramaturg
𝐌𝐢𝐚 𝐇𝐨𝐟𝐧𝐞𝐫 works between text and performance. After leaving her studies in Media and Political Sciences in Vienna, she earned a BA in Visual Communication at the Academy of Art Berlin-Weißensee and a diploma in Literary Writing from the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. Currently she is most interested in violence and multilingualism.

Graphic Designer
𝐑𝐢𝐬 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐞 is a Leipzig-based graphic designer, web developer, and artist. With a background in Communication and Media Science and a diploma in Graphic Design, their practice moves across disciplines. Ris approaches design as an active gesture of „making-with,“ bringing together typography, fragments, images and gestures. In close relation to DIY culture, their work grows through collaboration, process, and the creation of relational spaces.

Mixing & Mastering Engineer
𝐄𝐥𝐲𝐨𝐭 𝐓𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐡 is a musician, producer, and mixing & mastering engineer based in Cologne, and one of the founders of Safe Space Records. Working across genres, she crafts her own sonic worlds while also shaping the sound of other artists through her precise and intuitive approach to mixing and mastering. Her work bridges introspection and atmosphere, creating music that feels both intimate and expansive.
