When the world is your oyster, where do you go? 🌎🎬

In our new Global Production Spotlights, we’re looking at co production hot spots and breaking down their appeal for international producers.

Canada combines a recent flurry of global hits, an accessible North American base and diverse landscapes with competitive incentives, established production infrastructure and a highly experienced talent pool. @tiff_net first market this month is a big commitment from the country to attracting more international production footfall and partnerships.

Swipe for more of the reasons Canada sits on production radars. Plus, we hear directly from Pasha Patriki, CEO of 9 Light Entertainment on his recent Manitoba production, Sundown.

Today my newest film Sundown premieres at @filmfestlocarno 🖤 due to a family emergency I couldn’t attend, but I just wanted to say how incredibly proud I am of this amazing cast & crew. I would battle -30 (yes that’s a real temperature) with you all again anytime. 🖤💀❄️

The best way to edit a vfx creature film is to pretend to be the monster yourself. Right..?

Kinda wild, but so much fun to finally screen the film we edited 4 years ago! All the love to @fantasiafestival and horror queen @cemo25 , thank you for having us! Now, who wants Inception shots and mutant chicken nuggets?

Junction Row is finally premiering at @fantasiafestival today!
Spent a month up in wintery North Bay, starting the teaser and feature editing of this on set. And while this has been a long time in the making (and crew breakfasts and snowstorms are definitely high on the list), my most vivid memory is director Ashlea Wessel’s killer determination and inventive creativity. I’m certain there’s not one frame that hasn’t been turned inside out, split open or flipped on its head. I cut differently now because of our editing experience together.

Very lucky to have worked with performances by the iconic cast of Kyle Mac, Natalie Brown, Kayla Dumont, Glen Gould and Julian Richings, led by no other than Katharine Isabelle.
And cinematographer Daniel Everitt-Lock brilliantly managed to make it all look creepy, terrifying AND beautiful?!

It’s official! #sundown directed by @rebekahmckendry is heading the Locarno Film Festival this summer!

Three women (Olwen Fouéré, Camille Sullivan and Summer Howell) Reunite at a remote cabin to avenge the death of a loved one. But when they discover that their captive isn’t who he seems to be, all hell breaks loose as his “family” closes in, waiting to strike at sundown.
