I was standing backstage last night in Shippensburg, PA at the @imc_concerts Cathedrals Family Reunion concert.

I heard the intro to, “Champion Of Love”. I peeked around the curtain as the second verse was coming….I was delighted to see Gerald Wolfe stand from the piano and do the uncomfortable thing…sing.

He gave it everything he had and we were all blessed.

I know he doesn’t sing anymore, but he is still one of my all-time favorite singers.

Thanks for this moment, friend! You blessed me!

A few days ago, I sent this video to some incredible bass singers and asked what they thought and what I could do to improve. I sent it to Jeff Chapman, Jeff Pearles, Paul Harkey, and Ian Owens. Every one of them replied with positive, encouraging feedback and valuable advice. I’m always willing to listen and learn because I want to be the best I can be for the Lord and for my team, EHSS.

A few days later, Jeff Chapman reached out and told me he had posted my video on the Bass Singers Tribute Page on Facebook. He thought I might be upset, but I wasn’t at all. In fact, I was honored that one of the best bass singers in the industry thought my video was worthy of being shared there.

Then I read what he wrote in the description. He poured out his heart about the video, about me, and about bass singing in general. I honestly didn’t know how to feel. One of my favorite bass singers saw potential in me and believed I have the ability to become great. That meant more than I can put into words.

The funny thing is, I’m my own worst critic. After listening back, I didn’t even like how I sounded in this video. But reading his words and seeing encouraging comments from amazing bass singers like Aaron McCune, Eric Bennett, Pat Barker, Aaron Perkins, Matt Springs, Paul Harkey, Ian Owens and so many others has blown my mind.

I think I’ve finally built up the courage to post this video on my own page.

More than anything, I want to say thank you to everyone who has taken the time to listen, teach, encourage, and help me become a better bass singer and a better singer in general. That includes those I’ve traveled with, like Tyler Vestal and Dustin Doyle, and so many others along the way.

I’m grateful for every piece of advice and every opportunity to grow. I’m going to keep working, keep learning, and keep striving to be the best I can be every single day! all for the glory of God!🙏🏽
