The Athlete Experience 🏃🏾‍♀️🏆
The Athlete Village provided a range of thoughtful amenities and support, including:
🎒 BNSG swag bags
🍎 Fruits and refreshments
🥥 Coconut water, Powerade, water and juices
🧊 Ice-cooler hydration stations
💆🏾‍♀️ Massage and physiotherapy stations
👕 Changing areas
🚻 Portable toilets
💦 Misting stations
🧘🏾‍♀️ Designated areas to relax, stretch and prepare
🏟️ Areas to watch the races and support fellow athletes
🥇 Dedicated medal presentation areas
🚑 Ambulance and medical support
🙌🏾 An amazing team of volunteers, including members of the Barbados Youth Advance Corps

These details may seem small, but they contribute significantly to the overall athlete experience.
And I loved seeing that the experience wasn't just for the athletes.

The Spectator Experience 👏🏾
Spectators came out to support, but they also had opportunities to participate in activities, challenges and competitions, making the event feel more interactive and inclusive.
That is what I believe sport and active living should do—bring people together, regardless of whether you're competing, supporting or simply curious.

EFFORT IS ALWAYS REWARDED! 🥇🥇🥇🥇
Saturday was Field Events Day at the @barbadosnationalseniorgames hosted by @peoplebds , and I walked away with 4 Gold medals in the 45–49 category! 🏆🇧🇧

But here’s the thing… the medals are not what I’m most proud of.
I’m most proud of the progress. Of seeing the work I’ve been putting in translate into stronger performances, new personal achievements and two new division records.

Here are my results:
🏏 Cricket Ball — 45.37m 🥇 NEW RECORD
2025: 42.86m

🥇 Shot Put — 8.87m
2025: 8.82m

🥏 Discus — 23.22m
2025: 26.53m

🎯 Javelin — 24.59m 🥇 NEW RECORD
2025: 23.48m

So many lessons throughout the day...

Sometimes the lesson isn't in the result we expected. It's in what the experience reveals about us.

What I appreciate most is that I was intentional in 2026 about becoming fitter, faster and stronger... and that work showed up when I needed it.

The journey continues.
I have much more to learn, and I am already clear about areas I want to work on so I can continue developing and perform better in 2027.

Because for me, this isn't just about winning medals.
It's about getting better.
Getting stronger. Staying consistent. Being coachable. Trusting the process.
And enjoying the journey of active aging. 💪🏾🧠✨

A special thank you to my teammates Jason and Pat. It's always a pleasure sharing energy, encouraging one another and celebrating each other's achievements. Congratulations on your medals! 👏🏾🏆

And thank you to the @barbadosnationalseniorgames team for putting together a well-organised event and for the thoughtfulness shown toward the athletes—from the tents providing shade at the competition areas, to the staff support, water, fruit and the efficient flow of the day.
Those details matter, and they were appreciated. 🙏🏾

Four golds.
Two new records. Plenty of lessons. And even more inspiration.

We’re incredibly pleased to celebrate Celia Callumore of Bajan Fusion and Patricia Alleyne, both part of our Caribbean Home Help crew and nursing team, for their performances at the National Senior Games! 🇧🇧

🥇 Celia delivered an outstanding performance, winning her event and taking the top spot!

🥉 Pat also represented brilliantly, finishing third in her event!

For us at Caribbean Home Help, this is exactly what active ageing is about. Growing older should never mean giving up the things that bring us energy, competition, friendship and joy. Celia and Pat aren't only members of our team — they're wonderful examples of continuing to participate, challenge yourself and enjoy life at every stage.

Today is officially FIELD EVENTS DAY at the @barbadosnationalseniorgames ! 🏆🇧🇧

As athletes prepared to throw, jump, compete and challenge themselves, I took a few moments to check in with some of the participants and hear what active aging means to them.

Their answers, experiences and perspectives remind us that active aging can look different for everyone, but the common thread is choosing to keep moving, growing, participating and living fully. 💪🏾🧠❤️

✨️Honoured. Humbled. Inspired.✨️
On Sunday, I had the privilege of receiving the Wellness Advocacy Award at the inaugural Health and Wellness Conference Award Dinner & Ceremony hosted by the @tvetcouncilbarbados

To be nominated, selected, & recognized for work that is so closely aligned with my purpose & passion is both humbling & deeply meaningful.

What began as a desire to help people live healthier, happier, & more productive lives has evolved into a lifelong mission to create impact through fitness, wellness, personal development, & community engagement.

I extend sincere thanks to the TVET Council Barbados for this recognition & for creating a platform that celebrates individuals & organizations who are making meaningful contributions to the health and well-being of our nation.

This award is not mine alone. It belongs to the many people who have supported, encouraged, challenged, partnered with, & believed in me throughout this journey.

To my family, friends, mentors, clients, colleagues, collaborators, members of the @bajanfusion community, & everyone who has participated in a workout, workshop, challenge, team-building experience, or wellness initiative... thank you.
Your trust and support have made this work possible.

I would also like to congratulate my fellow award recipients whose contributions continue to strengthen our communities & improve the lives of others.
