POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

More than two decades of friendship, countless memories, and the same old tradition of pandal hopping. We grew up, life changed, and childhood became a memory—but every Durga Puja, we find our little world back in each other ❤️🧿
Some traditions never fade, and some friendships are forever. ❤️✨

Shashthi sorted!

This book has been giving me all the feels, I'm savouring it slowly;
like a nice cup of matcha, you take your time with it.
Bithika, can't wait to read more of your work!

it’s been far too long since i have shared my deepest admiration for this book, a true masterpiece that has left an indelible mark on my heart. whenever i recommend it, i am met with this curiosity “what’s so special about it?” (see slide 2) and i’m always ready with a passionate response that i know will resonate with others (see slide 3). but what drives my advocacy for this book is the bittersweet realization that the author, Paul Kalanithi, is no longer with us. there’s no other book to recommend, no further works to look forward to. the fact that he wrote only one book makes every page, every sentence and every word even more precious to me and that’s the reason why i keep on talking about this book only because there’s no other one to talk about.

i reread this book too often and every time i do, i am struck by the realization that even if it’s his one and only work published as a book, the way it’s written is enough. the one book he left behind has created an everlasting memory of his time on Earth and it’s so beautifully written that it has the ability to inspire others.

also, whenever i reread the book, i’m left wondering: will he ever get to know how much i love his writings? the dead man who penned a single book and a few articles, effortlessly blending the voice of a medico with the soul of a passionate literary person, will he ever get to know the power his words hold? will he ever get to know how often i think of his genius mind and tragic fate? will Paul Kalanithi ever get to know that i pray for him to have a good time in heaven?

despite the silence, his words continue to speak to me. they showed me a silver lining at a time when i could perceive nothing but darkness. i hope more people read it and understand what this book really has to say and i know it will continue to inspire others long after i too am gone.

In the book 'The Bell Jar' by Sylvia Plath, a fig tree is used as a metaphor to capture Esther Greenwoods representation of the many choices that confrot her.

Each fig represents a different life path and Esther is muddled by the thought that choosing one means losing all the others.

This analogy powerfully illustrates the essence of human condition - the fear of making decisions, the concern for lost opportunities and the pursuit of growth in a complex world.

The world is harsh but the world is also gentle. And I’ll forever have a hard time dealing with that. So, here are some books that help me pause and appreciate the little things.

“Dear old world”, she murmured, “you are very lovely, and I am glad to be alive in you.”

L.M. Montgomery, Anne of Green Gables
