Designed, Engineered, and Installed: Whale Rider at Halutu Skywalk

We just wrapped up three months of designing, engineering and installing the Whale Rider at Halutu Skywalk—a nine-pitch route that transcends the sea, traverses cliffs, spans chasms, and meanders through the forest.

The effort culminated with our project engineer visiting the site to inspect and test the continuous fall protection line, anchors, rungs, and our first two wire spans.

Our first priority on-site at Halutu Skywalk is doing everything in our power to ensure the safety of the people we take on route. That is why we have our systems engineered, tested and stamped by a registered professional engineer in Alaska.

We are super stoked to report that the Whale Rider passed: our engineer submitted the test sector to loads way beyond their maximum calculated structural limit, forces they will never realistically experience in the real world. Nothing moved.

This feels like a huge accomplishment, and it is not one we achieved alone. A huge shout-out to Logan Tyler @chossguru—our consultant who designed, built, and operates @goldmtnviaferrata and @basecamp_ouray — and our team here in Deishu who brought the Whale Rider into reality .

Haver pogut formar part del @freerideworldtour ha estat un somni fet realitat.

Baqueira, Val Thorens, Geòrgia, Kühtai, Fieberbrunn, Alaska i Verbier.

🤍 @koastalforest

A little snow doesn’t slow us down!

Okay, maybe a little bit, but we are fiercely at work to keep this well oiled machine moving.
