On Friday, the RSAI 2025 Operational Planning Retreat concluded with a shared commitment to advancing road safety initiatives in the year ahead. 🚦

Over the past four days, our team engaged in an in-depth review of two years of operations, reassessed our strategic priorities, and developed a comprehensive plan for 2025. This retreat, held at RSAI headquarters, provided a unique opportunity for reflection, collaboration, and forward-thinking.

The closing ceremony was a proud moment for the RSAI family, as certificates of achievement were awarded to members who completed the RSAI milestone of 2 years of experience and the 10+1 fundamental road safety courses required to become a certified road safety advocate. This milestone reflects two years of dedicated road safety work, combining practical experience and theoretical knowledge—an essential part of our organizational capacity development pathway. 🎓

As we look to 2025, RSAI remains steadfast in its commitment to working with partners and stakeholders to create safer roads for all. Together, we can transform our road network into a safe environment. 🌍💡

Approximately 1.3 million people died every year from road accidents as well as 50 million people sustained serious injuries. Of these stats, developing countries account for over 80% of the total injuries and fatalities globally.

_________

The stats is so troubling that Road Safety Action International, a nonprofit organization setup to provide road safety services has begun actively training young road safety practitioners and advocates.

_________

Today, March 4, 2023, 6 road safety advocates completed the #World #Bank delivered #Think #Road #Safety Verified Certificate Course.

__________

The course covered 7 important road safety knowledge areas:
1. Intro to road safety
2. The safe system approach
3. Road infrastructure safety
4. Managing additional aspects
5. Assuring effectiveness
6. Road safety cases

Appreciation to the World Bank Open Learning Campus Team and to Road Safety Action International for the full sponsorship.
