First throwback gig, never experienced a crowd singing back like that! @themightybooth_ & I shared a very surprised look at the first line, the crowd was louder than the fold backs. Also the homies in the crowd looking pretty swish I reckon, scroll to see the enthusiasm. Absolutely loved playing with this crew, here’s to some more shows with exceptionally talented musos. (Won’t say who but someone on stage hadn’t performed in like 7 years whaaaaaaat - please don’t stop and you have a bass player ready to go!) My mum put me in dance lessons when I was young and I could not for the life of me remember the steps. I was full of enthusiasm and confidence but would never know the dance. I have an uncomfortable number of friends who could vouch for this. Bizarre that I can remember violent choreography. Although that might be because @steve.mcquillan creates the best fights along with @jericho.nicodemus and @jatindersinghactor who made sure I had every move locked in my body. This was the best day 🥊 Also looking back at the bts footage I have found I am generally in various stages of bouncing. BTS by @oreed.creative and @apacut.media

‼️UPDATE as of March 22, 2026‼️ *Due to unforeseen circumstances, Dawn will no longer premiere at Māoriland Film Festival 2026 — I will update ya’ll on Premiere details asap.* “A hardworking girl with the responsibility of her siblings debunks the stereotypes of a South Auckland stoner when police illegally barge into her bedroom.” An ode to many South Aucklanders and stoners alike who do the best they can with what they have. Heart on sleeve, a whole lot of anxiety and the awhi of a massive crew working out of love for the craft to pull this one together! My friends are still pulling strings behind the scenes to make this my biggest milestone to date. Thank you @maorilandfilm @ngaahowhakaari @boosted.nz for supporting this project and my mates (actually too many to tag, I am sorry but let’s party soon!!!!) who jumped on this one. I always say I am blessed with the best because I actually am incredibly BLESSED to know such beautiful humans and artists!!!! Now having poured their same love for the arts into my very first film….. stop! 🥹 I cried on the way to our biggest set day, absolutely astonished at what we were about to do. So nervous. So inspired. So happy. So proud. Excited to celebrate such an achievement along many talented friends with works in the programme, too. And all my beautiful mates putting the festival together. See you all there?!!! ☺️
