POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

🏢🐰 Tue 9/22 at 7pm, the Portland Museum of Art presents my short film “Plan of the City” (2011) alongside “Who Framed Roger Rabbit” (Dir. Robert Zemeckis, 1988) — FREE and outdoors in Congress Square Park.🌳🌳🌳
This is the final screening in “Beautiful People Doing Impossible Things”, a series pairing four of my experimental films with Hollywood classics! The series is hand-picked by the brilliant Eve Biddle (@biddlebiddle) for PMA Films, and presented in conjunction with her solo exhibition, “Eve Biddle: Wonderlands,” curated by the inimitable Dr. Anjuli Lebowitz (@anjuli_curator), on view at the PMA through Jan 24.
“Plan of the City” is a collage of animation and live action. Skyscrapers rooted in bedrock lift off into the stratosphere. Through joyful fantasy the City’s ultimate fears are explored: it is destroyed, re-created, and finally revealed to be less unique than we thought.
With music by Judd Greenstein (@juddgreenstein), performed by NOW Ensemble (@nowensemble), and called “One of the best matches of visuals to music I have seen” by Anne Midgette (Washington Post).
Roger Rabbit is, IMHO, one of the greatest urban planning films of all time!
The plot at the heart of this gumshoe noir centers around a real life urban planning conspiracy that, to our eyes, can seem as cartoonish as any villain in Zemeckis’s masterpiece.
Needless to say, both combine animation with live action.
This is a pairing I have dreamed about for years.

Still reeling with gratitude from an action-packed residency of music-making, youth workshops, and new partnerships featuring new music superstars @nowensemble. Their community work culminated in a show at Chamber @ The Drake @thedrakeamherst, a vibrant new series in Amherst, plus a show at The Flynn in Burlington, presented by @turn_musicvt.

As we continue to stay present, to witness, and to take action wherever possible during this time of multi-pronged attack on human rights, it’s the building & making & connecting & feeling & responding & expressing & being our most human selves that will help us help each other get through. The act of reaching out or showing up have never been more powerful. Let’s keep focusing on a better future. Let’s keep caring about each other.

This residency was an exciting prototype for programmatic expansion, as Antenna Cloud Farm continues our core path of slow-but-steady growth and mycelial machinations. Thanks to everyone who so readily responded and showed up with us in community!

Friday night was surreal 🥺 there's no other way I would have wanted to release this record than being surrounded by so many people I love, in our space built for listening, playing this specific instrument. "In Our Softening" has had such a beautiful landing... thank you for giving this music life and stories. ❤️
