Aspen Next isn’t part two. It’s not a sequel. Hasburgh describes the script as Aspen Extreme adjacent—the same world, harder questions. It’s about the expense of living in the towns everyone wants to live in, and what it costs a place when it starts to feel like a country club. It’s about how social media reshaped big-mountain freeride, and how the pursuit of footage has made it more dangerous for people who trust equipment over judgement. There’s an up-down love story running through it. And of course through its spine is the the complicated love affair we have with towns like Aspen and Jackson and Banff and Whistler and Stowe. Hasburgh calls Aspen Next the best thing he’s ever written and we can’t wait to see it. Which studio should pick it up?

I am so grateful for my time in Sayulita, a place I love to visit. The ease of traveling from Tijuana to Puerto Vallarta and wonderful VRBO with @casa.marea.azul plus amazing weather and visiting with friends. When we were getting ready to leave today our driver messaged us to say we should reschedule our flights. He sent the video of footage from downtown PV. The PV airport is closed and our flights canceled. Thanks to @cherihasburgh and @patrickhasburgh we are safe and actually relaxing under the protection of four dogs cement walls and iron gates. Hoping to be able to fly home soon to my family in Cardiff by the Sea.

Huge milestone for #WaveKi last week at the @wrvobxpro - our first time having finalists in both the women’s and men’s divisions! The conditions were all over the place, from tiny shorebreak to full-on victory at sea, but both surfers kept their cool and performed well all week. It’s clear that their Wave Ki training is paying off.

When it came down to the finals, it was super close—either of them could’ve taken the win. But in the end, they both triumphed by spotting their weaknesses, so now we turn them into strengths. These lessons will be part of their Wave Ki training, making them even more dangerous in the future.

They’re still teenagers and already showing huge potential. Big congrats to @reid.vanwagoner and @wheeler_hasburgh — I’m beyond proud of you both. I know you’ll keep up with your daily Wave Ki practice to see your surfing hit new heights. Hey, you never know. You might rewrite what’s possible while #surfing one day.

Random observation but #21JumpStreet does NOT get all of it’s proper flowers for taking on issues before other shows dared- open and brutally honestly I had totally forgotten about the skinheads/nazis episode when it popped up on @samsung TV today this is from 1990 Shirts And Skins episode
