POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

I almost gave up on this artwork.

“Broken People Glow the Most” started with a theme that stayed with me long enough to become a painting. It was originally commissioned, but the commission was cancelled, and I hadnt taken any money for it.

Later, someone was interested in using it as the cover of his book. We talked about it, but eventually, he ghosted me.

For a while, I had no idea where this piece was supposed to go.

Then a Canadian-based heavy metal musician came along and saw something in it. He gave the artwork a new life by making it the cover art for his music.
@patrickisbusy

I’m genuinely grateful to him for giving this piece the home it was somehow waiting for.

Looking back, maybe the journey of this artwork was part of its meaning all along.

Broken people glow the most.✨

My debut album, So Long, Sinnerstate! is officially out in the world today ❤️

I spent so many years and learned so much about myself while making this project. I hope this feels like a conversation between friends and inspires you in someway. This album was self-funded, self-made under my own record label, FigTree Records.

There are so many people to thank who helped make my dreams come true with this one. My mentor @sarahmacdougallmusic for always pushing me and bringing out the best in me as an artist @emmawhale_music for co-writing so many of these tracks with me and inspiring me in ways I didn’t know were possible.

To all the talented musicians, singers, engineers and friends who performed on this album and helped me hear the vision I always wanted @mattsoliveridrums @jeffrey.tsax @conmanbolo @chriswongmusic @benheffernanmusic @luizgrante @mari_hutten @patrickisbusy @avamhickey

And to my @shakykneesclub family. Without y’all I would’ve never gained the confidence to do this

Shoutout to @innatsnature for the epic photography & @maxschramp for the design of the album and CD’s.

I love music, I love it more than anything, and I can’t wait for you to listen beginning to end and fall in love with this album as much as I have!

Something’s Out There is yours now❤️

Wrote this one last summer with @emmawhale_music and we knew it was going to be something special. Thank to @sarahmacdougallmusic @luizgrante and @patrickisbusy for making the bridge of this song so special and my favourite thing I’ve written in a long time.

Listen and sing along 😘
