this was one of those evenings i will never forget.

0 is the number @charliehano asks the audience to say when he asks about the number of trans men and transmasc creatives who have made to it broadway as writers, directors, music directors, choreographers, designers, and more. and then he asks about trans men & trans masc performers who have authentically played a role that reflects (one version of) that experience and says 3. i am so honored to be 1 of those performers. i want that to happen for more of us. and not just on broadway.

as creatives we get the opportunity to imagine so many unique and expansive worlds. guys like us should exist in those worlds too. on stage, on screen, behind-the-scenes. leading and following and learning. and for this one night that was in this electric green room.

shoutout to charlie and @maxraymond_ and every single incredible person who you see in these photos and don’t. shoutout to abbie and raiah for letting me sing your brilliant and moving song. shoutout to jules and abbey and kade for your loving leadership. shoutout to every person who came to the htdio stagedoor and said you saw yourself in me. that means more to me than you’ll ever know. i hope you’ll get to see yourself even more soon 🩵🤍🩷

This year, for the first time in the Let’s Hear It For the Boys history, we sold out our venue, broke box office records, and were livestreamed by an international audience tuning in from London to Iceland and beyond. This series started with a dream @charliehano and @maxraymond_ had: to showcase transmasc artists who deserve more visibility and more opportunities. Since its inception 3 years ago LHIFTB has platformed and paid out over 50 transmasc artists working across performance, direction, music, playwriting, ASL interpretation, illustration, photography, stage management, and more. I’m truly honored and grateful to be part of this production with this extremely talented cast and crew 🩵🩷🤍

This series started with a dream Charlie and I had: to showcase transmasc artists who deserve more visibility and more opportunities. Since its inception, we've platformed and paid out over 50 transmasc artists working across performance, direction, music, playwriting, ASL interpretation, illustration, photography, stage management, and more. I am really proud of this thing we're all building together and I hope it only gets bigger and better from here. Thank you for a landmark year three 🩵

another year, another incredible production of lets hear it for the boys!!! and to follow tradition, ive once again drawn all the people i could during the show.
i learned about lhiftb within a year of my trans awakening, and its truly meant the world to me to be able to be an audience for and connect with all these incredible artists. i think these are some of my best sketches yet.

everyone was so so incredible, and i cant wait for next year!!
