We don’t strive for perfection
But rather connection,
We play energy
Not notes,
The moment is the messenger,
So we say
“I love hearing your spirit!”

What is sound? It can only be consumed and produced one way? These rules are absolute? I play energy, not notes…

Look at your neighbor and say, “Community!” Eternal thanks to these musicians for helping me shape this music. This is a classic by the great Cheikh Tidiane Seck called “Sarala.”

This week, marking the 25th Anniversary of the Sept 11 attacks, we begin debuting Behind the Lines: a 9/11 Story in several cities across the country.

It has been more than one year of creative development, private previews, and select performances at the 9/11 Memorial and in Easton, MD. This has been such a meaningful collaboration with Bill and Jaymes, to bring these extraordinary stories to our communities, remembering those lost, and honoring the courage and sacrifice of those who gave so much that day and in the years that followed.

We look forward to sharing this new production with you. Tickets in bio link and at modernwarriorlive.org.

Led by internationally acclaimed trumpeter Dominick Farinacci, Behind the Lines: A 9/11 Story is a live story, music, and theatre performance featuring FDNY firefighter Bill Spade - who responded to the World Trade Center attacks and was the sole survivor of Rescue Company 5 - and army combat veteran Jaymes Poling, who served in the war in Afghanistan that followed. Set against the tragedy of September 11 and its lasting aftermath, Spade and Poling share their extraordinary journeys, revealing a profound bond forged through courage, sacrifice, resilience, and the enduring strength of the human spirit. Their stories are woven together with a deeply moving musical performance by Farinacci and a cast of renowned musicians, creating an experience that brings audiences together in remembrance, reflection, and hope.
