Honored to be apart of such a special night. Thank you @blackwomenspin & @londonwest1 for having me! Unfortunately I lost my phone during all the fun and only got BTS of 1/3 outfits!

And that’s a wrap on Lyla in “Cha Siu”

This was a marvelous opportunity to play three different characters representing different voices in one person. I saw the vision and the heart of the story right away and that just brought pure joy to be part of it.

Playing Lyla took me down memory lane, back to my 20s, when I heard that “crazy voice” telling me that something had to change. Pulling that trigger and letting my life unfold as it should. What I thought as the crazy voice wasn’t crazy after all. It turned out to be one of the sanest voices in my life.

The timid, calming, and crazy Lylas are all so lovely, and I will miss her dearly. Lyla is in every one of us, if we look closely enough.

Thank you to the amazing crew who brought me on. You are so talented & dedicated and I am inspired by you.

For the past two years, I’ve been trying to bring long-form improv to more Mandarin-speaking spaces and audiences.

It started with classes, small experiments, conversations, and slowly building a Mandarin-speaking team.

Last night, we hosted our first Mandarin Improv Jam.

I genuinely didn’t know who would come, or if people would even be interested. Seeing a room full of people willing to try, play, and support each other made me really happy.

Thank you to everyone who showed up with openness and curiosity. Feels like we found something worth continuing.

See you next month ❤️
