It’s hard to be sucka free in a world full of lollipops - DMX

When I look outside at the rough waters, I find beauty in the madness. This perfectly represents life. My son was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia exactly 10 years ago, in give or take a couple hours. I have been haunted since and have been only looking at today as a negative. To be away from my children is even harder and I’ve looked at that mainly negatively as well. Throughout it all however, there has been so much beauty that I’ve witnessed and also overlooked in my negative state. This year it is my goal to every day work to look at the beauty in the madness when the negative thinking creeps in. Ultimately it’s all I can control. I have already begun and will improve one day at a time throughout 2023 and beyond! Happy holidays everyone and count your blessings each day. Sometimes we have to force ourselves to do this. Take time!

This weather made me think of the man who got me into trance, Robert Miles. Hearing this shit in the back of @3bauto or @johnotis1982 car, all blazed for one of the first times ever and the first 2 tracks just hooked me for life. Track 1 is called “Children” and even if you don’t know trance you may have heard it somewhere. Maybe same for track 2 titled “Fable.”The smooth transition between the 2 and then that first bass kick in Fable blew my fucking mind! I was sucked in, tranced out and loved it! We called these beautiful moments together a “Rezzy Run,” as it was a beautiful drive through the woods, around a huge reservoir. Great times!

There was no continuous flow from track to track on YouTube so the break kinda kills the point of it all, but go check this album out and tell me if doesn’t match today’s vibe! Aloha 🤙🏻

On this #phenomfriday, we recognize a young man who represents commitment; he represents integrity, and he has finessed his drip in a way that’s not loud but still says, I’m here 😅. More importantly, he has identified lofty, yet reachable goals for himself to strive for. We have seen him challenge himself and step out of his comfort zone in meetings and on set at video shoots.

Please join me in giving @k.kxfi some praise. Even if you don’t know him, know that he deserves affirmation. #phenomfridays - Proverbs 12:25

Some people are just extraordinary at their job. The hospitality business is not for everyone. Tony Nguyen takes it to a new level. On a recent trip to Boston, I had a craving for “steamers” - simple steamed clams with hot drawn butter. I walked into @atlanticfishbos and I started going through the menu…crab cakes, lobster, chowder. The flavors reminded me I was home. Then I met Tony! A waiter that turned into a friend. I ordered the crab cakes. He said Kate - didn’t you walk in here wanting the steamers? I think that’s what you should order! Hahah. He was right. So so good. Thanks for your wonderful hospitality Tony! #hospitalitylife #bostoneats #restaurantlife #delicious #steamers #lobster #chowdah #tasteslikehome
