Bristol Breakers is a short documentary film about the Breaking and Hip Hop community in Bristol. Filmed mainly at Docklands Community Centre, the film follows the community coming together to create and inspire.

It is not only for dance, but the community is a space of creativity, connection, and empowerment. We bring together people of all ages and backgrounds, from youth to older generations, from beginners to professionals who continue to share their knowledge and experience. The community is accessible and inclusive, offering a space where dancers and artists can connect, learn, and grow. For many, it provides an outlet for self-expression, confidence building, and belonging, helping to strengthen Bristol’s cultural landscape while keeping Hip Hop culture alive.

This film was created as a way to share our story and to invite individuals and organisations for support. With funding, sponsorship, and partnerships, we can continue to provide opportunities, workshops, and events that keep this community accessible and sustainable for all.

📻Back In The Day📻

A fraction of the day from our FIRST EVER family event and it was a hit💥

When we said ‘Big Vibes • Big Energy • Big Fun’ we meant it 😎

The youth dived straight into all the Hip Hop Workshops our mentors held and there was laughter, smiles and a strong sense of unity through the whole day 😄

Honestly I don’t think any of us wanted the day to end but we know for sure we’ll be doing this again🕺🏾🎤

If you’ve got somewhat of a long attention span STAY TUNED‼️our in depth vlog is on its’ way

Introducing ‘Back In The Day’

A Hip Hop experience for practically anyone and everyone - ⚠️also it’s completely FREE⚠️

We’ll have a DJ spinning the dopest tracks, games for kids and refreshments on hand

Date: 17th May
Time: 2pm-7pm
Location📍: Shenley Court Hall, 200 Green Meadow Rd, B29 4DE

What inspired us to organise this event is the unity of community, which Hip Hop has achieved since it first began. The youth deserve a chance to channel their energy into creative crafts, with freedom to truly express themselves in a judgement-free space. And that’s exactly what we want to provide! We’ll have workshops for:

GRAFFITI (with King Jamez)

BREAKIN (with Bboy Mac1)

BEAT-MAKING (with Kamaal & Patryk Plow)

HIPHOP (with Mr Burnz)

And just to add even more character to the atmosphere, we’ll be having Zee and Gaby curate the space with artwork and hand-crafted pieces exclusive to the 90s/2000s

So...What are you waiting for? Get that date locked in, bring your family and friends and let’s enjoy Hip Hop together!
