HAPPY FEET 👣 When our arches and soles are tense and our feet are misaligned and packed into shoes it can create structural imbalances and tightness that radiates into our pelvic floor, spine , shoulders and jaw.

These simple stretches can help:
👉Foot & calf cramps
👉Lower back tightness
👉Tight (hypertonic) Pelvic Floor
👉Stress Release
👉Parasympathetic Response
👉Oxytocin Release
👉Increased Flexibility
👉Improved Circulation
👉Feeling grounded

Stretch feet and toes in all directions:
🦶Dorsiflexion - flexing foot stretching sole and calf (at wall, with block, or ball)
🦶Plantar flexion - pointing foot shortening the sole (at wall, with block, or ball)
🦶Supinate - rolling ankles outward (can be done standing, seated or with help of hands)
🦶Pronate - rolling ankles inward ((can be done standing, seated or with help of hands)
🦶Toe Flexion - stretching top side of toes (seated or with help of hands))
🦶Toes Extension - Curling toes under stretching underside of toes (seated or with help of hands)
🦶Toe Abduction - Spread all toes seated and standing
🦶Ankle rotations - seated or standing with wall support
🦶Rolling ball through sole of foot massaging all 3 arches of the foot: use a therapeutic rugby ball or used tennis ball
Medial Arch: Inner Arch
Lateral Arch: Outer Arch
Transeverse Arch: Across the metatarsals

Your baby is not a Watermelon 👶🚫🍉
Tearing can happen in different degrees during birth, yet there are many different ways to help prevent, diminish and support it
…. And fear is not one of those. 🙌

Tips…
1. TRUTH: Your baby’s skull is not fully fused during birth which assists them in molding into and through the birth canal as you give birth. Some tears do not require stitches and some may, you should be informed & included in this conversation after birth.
2. DURING PREGNANCY : things that can help your tissues elasticity and pelvic floor awareness include adequate nutrition, proper hydration, weekly stretches that tend to pelvic floor, hips and the entire body including jaw, perennial massage with a non toxic organic oil can help relate and connect to that area so you learn how to relax through touch.
3. DURING LABOR & BIRTH staying mobile, different birthing positions, having sensation in tissues to help guide yourself, breathing throughout pushes, relaxing face, jaw and tongue… placing your own hand on your tissues to guide.
4. AND I forgot to mention 2 key tips in my post, a warm wash cloth at perineum in between pushes can help stretch tissues and also pushing slowly with some verbal guidance can help too…Sometimes the less hands and fingers in there the better!

Let us remember that we have been birthing babies for thousands of years everywhere in every way.
Lean in, learn and connect with your body/anatomy & your breath, learn about your nervous system & labor hormones, learn about physiologic childbirth and what helps your body open and feel safe. You got this!

BREATH BREAK 🌬️
A super simple 90second reboot if you are finding yourself in knots today, whether in traffic, at work or wherever due to whatever. We can all use a minute or two to recalibrate and reframe, and your breath is a wonderful tool of Self regulation.

Tips 👈 Soft, slow, eyes open
First 4 breaths: inhale through nose, exhale through mouth like you are blowing very gently & quietly
Last 4 breaths: inhale through nose exhale through nose relaxing body
Optional: end with a long inhale and deep sigh 🕊️

🔆20 second hug :: boosts oxytocin which helps to reduce stress & boost immunity
🔆Sky Gazing :: awakens our sense of wonder and cosmic connection, it helps us move beyond perceived limitations and problems and immerse ourselves in the boundlessness which is our truest nature
🔆Shake it out :: Shaking & rumbling lips helps to activate your parasympathetic system assisting the body in releasing accumulated tension and rigidity, and activates the lymphatic system which aids in moving toxins through the body.
🔆Grounding :: placing your bare feet on the earth is one of the most potent ways to connect to earth’s electromagnetic field, it can improve sleep, normalize cortisol rhythm, reduce pain, stress and enhance a deeper connection to inner vitality.
🔆Commune with Nature :: 10-15 minutes of immersing your senses in nature boosts bliss chemicals and supports mental and physical health by regulating blood pressure and elevating mood.

These are simple practices that we can incorporate into our daily routine that will boost our awareness and vitality. Don’t limit your ‘relaxation rituals’ as a band aid for an overflow of stress or solely when on vacation…You deserve to experience this joy daily!
