Show and Tell, ep. 01: mi mejor amiga 🫶🏼

Seas mamá o no, te va a hacer bien.

Y tú, a quién presentarías en el próximo Show and Tell?

$30,750.85.

That’s what our Canberra community raised in just one afternoon.

When the earthquakes devastated parts of Venezuela, hundreds of people came together with one shared purpose: to help.

Volunteers cooked. Others gave their time. Local businesses donated prizes and ingredients. Musicians performed and donated their talent. Children laughed and played. Friends invited friends. And together, every arepa, raffle ticket, donation and purchase added up to something extraordinary.

Today, we’re pleased to share that @mateswithoutborders has officially acknowledged receipt of $30,750.85, which will support humanitarian relief efforts for those affected by the earthquakes in Venezuela.

This wasn’t the work of one person or one organisation. It was the work of an entire community that chose compassion over helplessness.

To every volunteer, donor, local business, performer, stallholder and every person who came along, thank you. Whether you cooked, donated, bought an arepa, sold something at a stall, volunteered your time, or simply showed up, you were part of this.

Canberra, you should be incredibly proud.

Together, we proved that even from the other side of the world, a community can make a real difference.
