DOING MY BEST

Somewhere along the way, the world handed us a picture of what a woman was supposed to be. Perfect. Quiet. Graceful. Unshaken.

Life had other plans.

Life taught us how to survive heartbreak. How to carry burdens no one else could see. How to keep showing up with weary hearts and hopeful souls. How to stand when everything inside us wanted to fall.

The song speaks of a porcelain doll. Beautiful. Delicate. Meant to sit perfectly on a shelf.

But life doesn’t ask most women to be porcelain.

It asks us to be brave.

It asks us to love after loss. To keep believing after disappointment. To rise after we’ve been brought to our knees. To keep walking, even when no one sees how tired we are.

So today, if you only have enough strength to whisper, “I’m doing my best,” let that be enough.

Because the strongest women are rarely the ones who appear perfect.

They are the ones who keep choosing hope.

The quiet beauty in this room includes a Maitland Smith porcelain duck and timeless candleholders, but the greatest work of art isn’t sitting beside the pile of clothes.

It’s the woman who refuses to give up.

YouBeYou.
Because the world has enough porcelain dolls.
It needs more women who keep getting back up.
