POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Big congratulations to ArtHub ATX artist Paula Lifschitz on being featured in MSN’s “Top 10 Creative Artists Making an Impact in 2026.”

Paula’s work blends memory, emotion, and imagination through bold color palettes and layered storytelling. Her evolving practice spans acrylic, watercolor, pastel, handmade paper, and large-scale canvas works — creating pieces that invite viewers to pause, reflect, and interpret beyond the surface.

The article also highlights her growing international presence through residencies in Greece and France, along with her participation in the Satellite Art Show.

We’re proud to have Paula creating here at ArtHub ATX and sharing her work with the Austin creative community. Be sure to follow her journey and stop by during open studio sessions to experience the work in person.

We are THRILLED to present contemporary works by Paula Lifschitz @paulalif (TX) at this year’s Miami Beach Fair | December 4-8! Come explore it with us at SATELLITE this Art Basel! Artist Statement Below! Ticket Link in Bio #notbasel

This artwork is thematically based on camping and festivals: In particular; the need to turn to nature as an escape from a modern world that is filled with rapidly advancing technology and the undeniable and still unfathomable rise of A.I. I hope my art evokes a return to primal roots to find our true spiritual and corporeal nature before the fall of humanity and the rise of the alien cyborg humanoid robot race!

Symbolic Self Portraits by @sabinestreetstudiosartists are now on view✨

Reserve Thursday, March 28 to celebrate alongside artists in a great celebration of art and community.
🍾🥂
“… every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter. The sitter is merely the accident, the occasion. It is not they who are revealed by the painter; it is rather the painter who reveals himself/herself.”
― Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray

Portraiture dates back to ancient times. The motivation to capture a subject’s likeness and personhood has many origins. There are many ways to view others, and in doing so we hope to understand more about ourselves and the human condition in general. The combinations of form, line, shapes, shadows, tones, expressions are endless, as infinite as the human body. And as new media and types of experiences develop, we form new ways to look at others and also to look at ourselves. We might find that one feels most accurately embodied as abstract shapes or gestural brushstrokes, rather than detailed simulation of actual facial features. Perhaps the emotions expressed by subject can not be fully illustrated by facial features, leading to interesting decisions in composition, use of the background, color, dimensionality, etc.

For this exhibition, Symbolic Self-Portraits, artists from Sabine Street Studios were asked to create their own version of a self-portrait, and to consider how they might wish to be perceived. Join the artists on Thursday, March 28, from 6-8 pm to celebrate the opening of this exciting new exhibit! The show occupies the South Gallery of Sabine Street Studios, and will be on view and open to the public, from 9-5 pm Monday through Saturday until April 13, 2024.
