25 BOOKS FOR 2025 🗓️✨📖
(influenced by your favourite books/authors of 2024- and all previously owned by moi).

I have thoroughly enjoyed scrolling through instagram the last week or so and seeing all of your 2024 highlights for reading. It’s my favourite time of the year on here!
When setting reading goals for 2025 I want my focus to be largely on books I already own/books already on my radar. I have some big financial goals that I want to kick this year- after just purchasing my first home I want to be focusing on extra income going into my home rather than on unnecessary items. I would never say that books are unnecessary but my library space has over 150 UNREAD books and it’s getting completely out of hand 🫣🫣

I am really excited about this stack as it is books that YOU have rated highly and personally loved- and a lot of them I have seen more than once in your wrap ups for 2024! I trust your opinions and can’t wait to delve into these!

If I have tagged you I was directly influenced by you (try guessing which book was chosen because of your bookstagram hehe). During the year I will (hopefully) review some of these books and give you my thoughts- and fingers crossed for finding some new favourite books! 💝

I know I am quiet on this app, but thank you for continuing to be an amazing group of people and spreading love about my favourite thing (books 🥹). HNY ✨

WHAT THIS WEEK? 📚 🖥 💪🏼🧾 🥳 😊

Happy Sunday evening Bookstagram. It's that funny time of year where we're not completely sure which day of the week it is or whether we're still meant to be eating buffet food anymore! Twixnas...Betweenmas...Crimbo limbo...whatever we call it, it happens every year without fail!

This week I've been...

📚 READING:
Having finished work on the 20th, I've had some much needed, uninterrupted reading time. I've just finished my 8th book this week. I've read The Christmas Jigsaw Murders, The Santa Killer, This year Maybe, The Christmas Express, Only For Christmas, The Killer's Christmas List, The Winter Spirits and (literally two minutes ago) Death Comes At Christmas. I'm tempted to see if I can squeeze in another festive read before the 31st.

🖥 WATCHING:
All the Christmas specials...I bloody love them! I was so nervous about watching Gavin and Stacey but it was everything that I needed it to be!

💪🏼DOING:
Nothing! Absolutely nothing. Apart from a few family gatherings and little sales trip, I've been nestled under my blanket beside the tree.

🧾 BUYING:
I've picked up a few items of clothing in the sales but on the whole, I found the sales pretty underwhelming. I did, however, do a big stock up of cleaning products ready for a deep clean!

🥳 LITTLE WINS:
Still having a full week left before I go back to work.

😊 LOOKING FORWARD TO:
Catching up with some friends in the next few days.

How has your week been?

I've tagged a few accounts to share their #whatthisweek but as ever, if you are seeing this post, please consider yourself tagged xx

When I’m not reading, I’m…
❤️💋🌹🍒🐞

I saw @byeori_reads do this and I thought it would be fun! I bring you a red stack so I can talk about the things I do when I’m not reading. Honestly, I don’t do much, I’m kind of a boring person but her are a few things that came up with!

🍓 listening the same music on repeat (usually Vance Joy)
🍓 watching The Golden Girls or another one of my comfort shows
🍓 petting one of our copious amount of pets (we have 8 cats and 2 dogs)
🍓 watching YouTube like it’s a job (favs are booksandlala, seasonsreadings, hopescope, rachelmaksy, twinelle, and wittynovels)
🍓 resisting the urge to impulse buy everything from insta ads so I don’t go broke
🍓 working (I love my job y’all! I couldn’t be more lucky 🥹)
🍓 thinking about what I’m going to read next lol 🙃🙃🙃🙃
🍓 napping

#qotd: what is something that you do when you aren’t reading? I would love to get to know y’all better!! (Last slide for a mini jump scare lol)

🔸️𝑾𝒆𝒅𝒏𝒆𝒔𝒅𝒂𝒚 🔸️

Thank you @lunasbooklist for tagging us.

𝐐: 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤?

For us, it's Wednesday!

Maybe it's because today, literally, is Wednesday. But it's more than that. For us, the character Wednesday represents people who are very self-centered, honest, and brilliant. 🕷

Of course, we don't see ourselves as very brilliant, but as readers you get to know so many people, world's and subjects you've never dreamed of, we might consider ourselves "not-stupid". 🤣

Also, Wednesday marks a dark day, black, sadness.🕷🕷

Somehow, Wednesdays are always a struggle for Shannen, maybe because it's midweek, so far from the previous weekend and yet so far from the next weekend. Also, she had a disappointing workday. 😒

For Anna, as she is using dark humor to hide her depressive thoughts and attitude.✌️ Wednesday embodies everything she feels she is. Also, Wednesday, work days are also not best for her. In her opinion, on Wednesdays, people are more likely to be stupid. 🫠

And to finish it up with a very positive note: look at that gorgeous place Anna visited! ❤️

Feel free to join in, if you are tagged or not! 🥰

I wrapped all the books I want to read in newspaper - and you get to pick which one I read next! Comment below a number between 1 and 151 - that's how many books I need to read 😅

For those wondering, the reason I did this is so that I'll read the books I have on my tbr that I have had for years but never read / not so keen on starting. I think this is the perfect solution to pick randomly!

Thank you guys for all of the continued support ❤

🌅 Sunrise-Sunset Stack Challenge 🌄

🌙 Ramadan Mubarak everyone!!

☀️ Thank you @radhi_inthelibrary for tagging me in this amazing challenge 💛

🌞 Alhamdulillah, the holy month of Ramadan has begun and for those of you who didn’t know, this is the month in which we Muslims observe a fast from Sunrise to Sunset for a period of 29-30 days (depending upon the lunar cycle).

☀️ The month of Ramadan begins with the appearance of the crescent moon and ends when the crescent moon is sighted the next time after the completion of one lunar cycle. That’s when we celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr. During the month of Ramadan, we begin our fast at sunrise and break it at sunsets.

Hence, this sunrise-sunset book stack seemed the perfect way to symbolise this amazing month.

🌞 We fast in order to remember all those who are not as blessed as we are and to be grateful to God for everything we’ve been adorned with.

☀️ However, Ramadan isn’t just about fasting. It’s also a form of mental/spiritual elevation. It’s about patience, reflection and growth. We learn to be more grateful and abstain from all forms of sin while trying to raise our ‘iman’ as Muslims.

(Also, thank you @thebookishcaster and @radhi_inthelibrary for explaining things out so beautifully that I don’t think I ever could 🤍)

🌞 Books in this stack:
🌟 ‘Percy Jackson and the Last Olympian’ by Rick Riordan
🌟 ‘A Column of Fire’ by Ken Follett
🌟 ‘Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire’ by JK Rowling
🌟 ‘Remember Me?’ by Sophie Kinsella
🌟 A Special Edition of ‘Heidi’ by Johanna Spyri

Tagging some friends for this challenge, but no pressure of course!
