OUTSIDE-IN 💍💐 Natalie & John Ellis’ spring 2025 wedding was a bright, gardenlike celebration with live trees framing the dance floor.

🍃 Planning an outdoor wedding seemed stressful to the Charlotte couple, who met through mutual friends at Selwyn Pub, so planner Jackie Fogartie brought the outside in with colorful flowers and linens and pops of chartreuse.

🥂 A priority for Natalie and John: An extended cocktail hour for spending plenty of time with family and friends.

“We didn’t want to miss a second of socializing for more pictures or a grand entrance … getting to have real conversations with everyone that night was really special,” Natalie says.

🎵 For the reception, the couple opted for passed appetizers and stations (fried oysters were a favorite) to “stick to that laid-back, social feel.” A packed dance floor was also a priority. “All we really wanted was to celebrate with each other, to have fun and to be surrounded by that feeling of joy by everyone in the building.”
