Madonna Live: The Virgin Tour was released by Warner Music Video and Sire Records on November 4th 1985.

Madonna Live: The Virgin Tour chronicled The Virgin Tour shows in Madonna’s home town shot at Cobo Arena in Detroit, Michigan over 2 nights on May 25 and 26th, 1985.

The performances of "Angel", "Borderline" and "Burning Up" were removed from the track list of the video, there are w theories as to why they were excluded:

First one and most commonly repeated is that director Daniel Kleinman believed that Madonna's performance was not her best in them.

Second is M and/or Record Execs were not happy with her performances and did not want them included.

Third one is that Warner felt the performance of Burning Up was too raunchy to keep the PG rating Warner wanted to keep to capitalise on the teenage fan market which was booming in 1985.

I hop we will see the full show released next year for the 40th Anniversary. ❤

***ADDED FAN THEORIES *****
I'm going to add extra fan theories posted here to this post as well. I think it's will be interesting to hear all the theories out there from fans.

1. The songs were cut by Warner to keep the video under 60 minutes. Thanks @madonnaarchive ❤

2. " I spoke to Daniel Kleinman and he couldn’t recall exactly why the songs were cut. He said they had loads of problems on the shoot as it was really low budget and they couldn’t place cameras where they needed too. He said they didn’t have enough loaders (the people who put the film in the cameras) and so they missed a lot of the action while waiting to change the film reels. He said that may have been a reason for cutting some songs if there wasn’t enough footage. Also I heard that Warners wanted to keep everything under 60 minutes as that was the cheapest way to release VHS at the time. If they’d gone over 60 minutes they would have had to use more expensive tape stock". Thanks Benjamin Davis ❤️.

A huge thank you to @paulstec75 who very kindly sent me the original design and print files for the virgin tour video cover that he owns to share.
