Last night 165 members of the Abergavenny community, gathered in the Victorian market hall. The event was called One Big Table, an event put on by a bunch of local folk who all volunteered their time, skills and love to the community. It was indeed, one Big Table!

There was live music, bar with local artisan drinks, arts and crafts at the table, families, friends and food! So much of the incredible ingredients and props were donated by local businesses. It was an absolute pleasure to feed the community in this way. The air miles on the menu was virtually nill, the local produce so good, that I wanted to let it shine without overcomplicating it.

Nothing makes me happier than seeing people round a table together, sharing food, pouring drinks and laughing. Community, family, friends, strangers ❤️ Kids running around, elderly doing crafts, strangers passing plates. That’s what it’s all about.

I didn’t get a chance to get any pictures of the food on the night, but I cooked the same menu at home so we could enjoy it as a family.

Placemat shows the businesses that contributed in some way, but doesn’t show the long list of amazing volunteers who worked so hard, meetings, planning, WhatsApp groups and phone calls. It could not have happened without the immense efforts of all the volunteers and donations from local businesses.

Love this town and love what community can do ❤️

A HUGE thank you to @monmouthshirecc for connecting us to the South Asian Celebration held at @abergavennycc this weekend 😃

We were lucky to have fantastic knowledgable facilitators and a brilliant volunteer available for the event. Lovely Shanti and Dr Oishee led the group in Indian Block Printing, showing Batik and set up a kids colouring station.

A great day had by all! Love sharing our materials and equipment to support these events
❤️

We can help you set up arts and or crafts?! Any theme or inpiration from around the world. We'll do the research and sort you out 👌 Email pawb.arts@gmail.com

Our bank holiday snail hunt was a success - lots of snails discovered and free hot chocolates won!! 🐌☕️

We’ve collected most of the snails in for now, but a few have hidden even from us, so if you find one over the next few days, pop it into the cafe and we’ll still honour the free hot chocolate reward ❤️

A huge thank you to @pawb.arts for creating this wonderful activity for our littlest customers. If you haven’t already checked out Hollie’s amazing art classes for children and adults, please do - she’s fantastic and we’re very lucky to have Pawb Arts nestled in the centre of Abergavenny. 🎨🖼️

Don’t forget to tag us and @pawb.arts in any of your snail pics! 📸

Shhhh… there’s some secret snails hiding in the gardens this bank holiday weekend! 🤫
… can you find one? 🔍

If you do, bring it to the cafe, identify its name, and let us know who you’ve found… and for finding their safe passage back to us you’ll be rewarded with a treat! 🐌 💕

(You can do this if you’re an adult who’s found one too!)

With *epic* thanks to the wonderful Hollie at Pawb Arts for indulging my bonkers ideas and making them brilliant! If you want to make your own snails (or whole host of other amazing workshops and arty activities) follow her here ➡️ @pawb.arts
