Post 22 : Hara Bhara Poha
#cleaneatguide : Let's stay healthy together.

Poha is loved by one and all and is one of the easiest breakfast recipe. I love the traditional Poha but there's no harm in trying different version of it. Right?

So here's the easy-peasy Hara bhara Poha which not only gets ready in minutes but also it tastes so different from the traditional one. I basically had coriander and coconut chutney in my refrigerator which I mixed together to make the base paste of this Poha. But you can check the detailed paste recipe in the description below. You definitely can adjust the spice level and also skip the sugar as we are adding pomegranate arils at the end to get that sweet and tangy(from 🍋) taste in our Poha.

So what are you waiting for? Do check out the complete recipe below and share your feedback with me.

Hara Bhara Poha

Ingredients :

2 cup Poha
1/4 cup fresh coconut, grated
1 tsp ginger, chopped
2 green chilli
1/2 cup coriander, chopped
Salt to taste
1 tbsp lemon juice
2 tsp sugar (optional)

For tempering
1 tbsp olive oil/ ghee
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp urad dal
2 dry red chillies
1 sprig Curry leaves

Garnish
Coconut, grated
Pomegranate arils

Instructions :
1. Wash Poha(thick) with water twice and strain the water. Keep aside.
2. Into mixer, add coconut, coriander, green chilli, ginger, lemon juice, salt and sugar. Blend it to smooth paste. Add 1 tbsp water to adjust the consistency.
3. Now add this paste to washed Poha and mix it well using spoon. Don't be too rough & hard while mixing else it will break the poha.
4. Heat oil in pan. Now turn flame to low and add mustard seeds and let it splutter.
5. Add urad dal followed by red chilli, once urad dal is light brown in color add Curry leaves and saute for few seconds.
6. Lastly add Poha mixture and coat it well in the tempering. Cook it on low flame for 2-3 mins.
7. Turn off the flame. Serve it in plate. Garnish with coconut shreds and pomegranate arils.

Just a little light brunch for one 😁 JK, this delicious feast from @baarbaarnyc was for a group of blogger babes hosted by @laurieespino, and it was all SO GOOD. From the tropical drinks (mango bellinis and coconut milk run punch!) to the gorgeous and creative small plates (the potato tikki with tempura kale and raspberries was a surprise favorite) to the hearty main courses like the chicken tikka mac and cheese, I enjoyed everything I tasted (and we tried A LOT!). The atmosphere is chic and super Gram-able, the service was excellent throughout, and the brunch DJ mixing Bollywood and Beyoncé had us all dancing in our seats while we ate 😊 If you are looking for a spot for a girls brunch, #baarbaarnyc is perfect. Thank you @fit.foodie.diva for having us at your lovely new spot, and to @laurieespino @littlefashionstylist @citychickstyle and @victorialeandra for being such fun brunch companions. #curvilyeats #nycfood #brunchnyc
