Leadership is shaped by the people who inspire us, the friendships we build, and the experiences that help us grow. ❤️💙 This month, I’m celebrating how FCCLA connects student leaders from across the country, creating opportunities to learn from one another, build meaningful friendships, and become the leaders we aspire to be. Who has inspired you on your leadership journey?

We will continue with our meet the officers with Payton. Payton is an enthusiastic, compassionate, and determined FCCLA leader. She is excited to be involved and wants to make the most of every opportunity that comes her way. When Payton takes on a responsibility, she doesn’t approach it halfway—she gives everything she has because doing her best genuinely matters to her.

Payton can also have a strong voice, which is an important leadership quality. She is willing to speak up and express herself, but that strength is balanced by her empathy. She cares about how other people feel, notices the needs of those around her, and treats people with kindness. That combination gives her the potential to be the kind of leader who can stand up for what she believes while still making others feel heard and valued.

Another quality that makes Payton special is the warmth she brings with her. She smiles, she is kind to everyone she meets, and she brings an eagerness to participate. She wants to succeed, but she also wants the people around her to succeed.

NLC ‘26 is officially in the books! ❤️🌹

I had such an #incREDible time getting #conneCTEd with so many new members from all across the country! It was an honor and a privilege to serve as a voting delegate for Virginia FCCLA and to be the voice for the association. I am beyond grateful to have attended this conference and I will forever cherish the memories made and the opportunities I was given!

Thank you to my fellow SEC, my chapter, state staff, the 25-26 and 26-27 NEC, and @nationalfccla for an unforgettable experience!

NLC is officially here! The past 2 days I have had the honor to represent Virginia FCCLA on the national nominating committee and as a voting delegate. I also had an amazing time at opening session. I can’t wait for the rest of the week!!!🇺🇸

Virginia FCCLA, thank you for everything. Thank you for your support of me throughout all my years as a member and a state officer, and thank you for supporting me throughout my National Officer term. I want to thank my parents, the rest of my family, state staff, and everyone from all of my past SEC’s for always being there for me and supporting me. While this might have been my last SLRC as a member, I look forward to coming back as an alumni to continue supporting FCCLA. Now, I’m getting ready for the 2026 National Leadership Conference in Washington DC, July 6th-10th. I can’t wait to see everyone there! #fccla #vafccla #slrc26

This conference was everything I could’ve asked for and more! I had such an amazing time and I’m so grateful for the opportunities I was given! Being elected state president is a dream come true and I can’t wait for the upcoming year!

Over the past four years, VA FCCLA has meant so much to me. During those years, I have been a member, a chapter officer, chapter president, and your state 1st vice president. But as my senior year comes to an end so does my FCCLA journey. Over the years I have strengthened my voice, grew my leadership skills, and represented Virginia with pride. However, most importantly I have made core memories, found my best friends, and learned to enjoy the little moments. This journey would have not been the same without the SEC. You guys have been so amazing and I will forever cherish all the memories and times we spent together. To state staff, Mrs. Rye, and my dad, thank you for being so supportive of me through the years and always pushing me to be my best. Lastly, thank you members for trusting me to help lead this organization. So Virginia FCCLA thank you for helping create the best four years of my life and creating the person I am today.

Virginia FCCLA,
Thank you for giving me a year that I’ll carry in my heart forever. Serving as your 2025-2026 State President was truly the greatest honor of my life. Everyone that showed up this week and “Got their Game On” has truly impressed me. You have shaped me into a better person, leader, and individual. I am forever grateful. Thank you.

To my team: Senya, Payton, Emma, Brynn, Joseph, Cameron, Jude, thank you for making this year a core memory in my FCCLA memory box. You all are my people, thank you for being more than just a team. You were my strength, my encouragement, and the reason I never gave up. I wouldn’t be here without you.

To Ms. Miller: My second mom and someone I feel closest to, thank you for being in my life since 6th grade. Now as an 11th grader, I can’t imagine this journey without you. You’ve been through every high, every low, every stressful moment, and every win with me. You always know exactly what to say and how to push me forward. You are my biggest supporter. I love that I can always trust you to be in my corner.

To the State Staff: Thank you for always being there with guidance, support, and patience. From answering every question, to giving us opportunities to grow as well as sharing laughs and jokes along the way. I’m so grateful for everything you’ve done for myself and my team. Your actions truly reflect how much you love Virginia FCCLA.

To the VA FCCLA Members: Thank you. Thank you for seeing something me and trusting me to lead our delegation. You saw this even when sometimes I didn’t see it in myself. You are my inspiration and my purpose.

To my family: Thank you for constantly showing up for me, even if it meant rearranging your own time. I wouldn’t be here without everything you’ve given up for me. I cannot overstate the gratitude I feel for your sacrifice.

To my friends: Thank you for listening to all my FCCLA rants, even when it felt unending. Through every stressful moment, every tear, every late night and missed moment, you were still there for me. This means everything.

“The hardest goodbyes come from the most beautiful memories”

Thank you @virginiafccla for entrusting me to serve as your Vice President of Competitive Events. It’s crazy how 5 years can make a difference. Never would I have imagined that when I attended my first state conference is 2022 that I would be where I am today. I may be stepping down as a state officer but I’m not stepping away from FCCLA. Not even close. This organization has truly changed me for the better and given me a place to call home.

This year has helped me realize that it’s the little moments that matter the most. It’s the late night laughs, early mornings and so much more. This year has brought me some of my best friends and moments I will treasure for the rest of my life.

Thank you Virginia FCCLA for every moment, memory and lesson that I’ll carry with me forever. I’ll never forget this year and I can’t wait to see what the future holds!
