Emmy consideration season is in full swing, and even more excitingly Shrinking Season 4 is about to start filming!

It takes a lot of people to make art and many of them don’t get the recognition they deserve. So on Thursdays I am shining a light on fellow creatives that I have worked with (or would like to)!

Today I am spotlighting Sharon Paz, whose keen eye for talent and head for business have served her well, first as an agent and now as a manager. I first got to know Sharon during her 21 year tenure at Abrams (later A3) Artists. We bonded over a shared love of theatre and philanthropy. And I truly appreciate her comprehensive approach to the life of an artist - where the spirit must be nurtured in the work but also in the personal life.

I asked Sharon a few questions and here is what she had to say:

JOB TITLE: Talent Manager / Founder of Paz Talent

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART OF YOUR JOB?
I’ve worked with most of my clients (even now as a manager) for over 10 years, some since my days as an assistant at the agency, and others who were the first I signed as an agent. I love being part of their excitement, growth, and change. While I don’t welcome the lows the industry brings, the fact that neither they nor I gave up makes the wins even sweeter. And I also cherish starting fresh with new clients and building something meaningful together.

WHAT DO YOU WISH ACTORS (OR OTHER CREATIVES) UNDERSTOOD ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
Being a rep (whether an agent or manager) is about so much more than just finding a client a job. Without sounding too much like a Hallmark card, it’s about investing in their dreams. We work together to further their career, and their personal journey. At the end of the day, it’s still a business, however I don’t believe that success can be measured by the bottom line alone. True representation means walking beside my clients through every high and low, guiding, supporting, and celebrating each step along the way.Thats what I did as an agent because we were very managerial and I continue to do that as a manager today.
