We launched a fun new thing on T+L.com yesterday and in the October issue, on newsstands Friday 9/18. Hotels are reallllllly upping their restaurant game, so @sushbaral and I ran around tracking new spots and calling up reporters and chefs all over the world to find the hotels you should book just for the food and drink. And damn if those reporters and chefs didn’t DELIVER. Make yourself a cute lil dinner this weekend and go read the results of our v delish endeavor !!

It’s Thursday morning and we’re all recovering from another wild and wonderful evening of Moot Trivia!

Congrats to all our top-performing teams: Moh Money, The Team With No Name, Scrote (lol), No Happy Endings, and Charlie’s Angels, all of whom did extremely well but couldn’t quite catch our winners, The ShawShawnk Regression, who rode a big final round to a narrow win, earning them $50 off their bar tab and bragging rights for the next 6.6 days. Kudos to them!

And thanks to everyone who quizzed with us last night! We know you have a choice in bar trivia and we’re honored and humbled you went with us. We’ll see you back at the Moot Bar next Wednesday at 8 for another exhilarating installment of Moot Trivia!

Western Mongolia 🇲🇳 — a place I never quite imagined would capture me the way it did, and now easily one of my top five places I have ever traveled.

Majestic. Rugged. Untouched. A land so vast and extraordinary that it makes you stop, look around, and wonder how this incredible world came to be.

Days spent with eagle hunters and shamans, hiking through endless landscapes, waking to freezing mornings that turned into warm, sun-filled days, and experiencing a culture and way of life unlike anywhere else I have traveled.

We slept in traditional gers, ventured far beyond the familiar, laughed endlessly, learned so much, and embraced every bit of the adventure. It was raw, humbling, beautiful — and truly epic.

Thank you to Nomadic Expeditions and Three Eagle Camp for opening the door to this remarkable corner of the world, and to the friends who started this journey as travel companions and somehow became family along the way. ❤️

Western Mongolia, you will stay with me forever. 🇲🇳

A knock on the door of our ger woke us from an amazing and much anticipated nap and it was the most welcome interruption. As we stepped outside I witnessed my first double rainbow! Every day of this trip has been greeted with surprises and natural wonders that take my breath away. This is western Mongolia and life at our new home away from home Three Eagle Lodge! Thank you @nomadicexpeditions and @jalsanomad for this incredible experience.

Promising a Miamian like me the fiery spectacle of fall foliage is like tempting a Canadian with warm Caribbean waters. For someone who lives where the autumnal equinox is signaled by only the slightest drop in temperature and humidity, traipsing through a woodland carpet of amber and russet leaves is an as-seen-on-TV fantasy.

So when I got the chance last October to join Seabourn Quest's 12-day circumnavigation of Japan - billed as a fall foliage cruise - I didn't hesitate. Our itinerary took us to eight ports in the Sea of Japan (including Tsuruga, where I am here) before ending just outside Tokyo. Each stop offered its own distinct delights, so it wasn’t until we were nearing the end of our journey that I realized I hadn’t yet glimpsed any fall color.
