Couldn’t think of a better way to end my birthday. This year I had the opportunity to spend my special day with some of the most important people in my life. I have the privilege of knowing these individuals for more than half my lifetime. Through the ups and downs of life they’re the ones I can always count on. From endless funny moments, random trips, and plenty of unforgettable memories. Thanks and cheers! 🎉🍾🥂

🚨sorry long post! 🚨

At the beginning, when all of the quarantine first started didn’t really do anything for the first two weeks or so, just did basketball drills when it was nice outside but that was it. Then I decided to get a bike, being that would give me something to do and get out of the house after multiple zoom calls or whatever. Of course get bike then the weather kind of gets crazy with the wind or rain. April 14th and 16th did a little bit of running on the treadmill but that same itch wasn’t there as when I was going to the gym. Then I started seeing the apps that you could try different workouts and the live workouts on Instagram that trainers I know or people I follow were doing. That kind of got me thinking that I need to get back into it and not let the quarantine stop me from where I want to be. Although I don’t really have a bench or dumbbells but figured I would improvise or just do body weight.
I started running daily Monday to Friday on April 20th, giving the weekend to kind of recover. Then I added in my brother @kevin1mejia ‘s live workouts with @allycourtnall (thank you guys!) and that put the itch to get it done back in me for continuous weeks and once that competitiveness that drives me gets back in me, there isn’t anything stopping me. Yes the last two weeks, there was a little drop off but I’m back! There are multiple people that are keeping me accountable getting it done! It has been amazing to see the change!

Don’t wait for it to happen, make it happen! Make your own future! Stay true to yourself, yet always be open to learn! Work hard, and never give up on your dreams, even when nobody else believes they can come true but you!
I will say this has really gotten me thinking about possibly canceling my gym membership and just getting the equipment I need and having a home gym. Yes its true by doing that there might be some days that I may not want to because I’m not leaving the house to go somewhere and workout, it has worked right now because everything is closed.
