Air Jordan VI White/Infrared 2026

These are beautiful. Perfect birthday gift. 12 years later & we get the Nike Air on the back, and as anticipated as this pair was to me, it did not disappoint. I think these are incredible and I am glad I did not wait until 11/7.

Special thank you to @chicagoemporium again for getting these delivered almost a month in advance, & working with me so that they got here on my birthday. Very thankful for you guys.

Anyone who is a fan of VI’s will love these. I could not be happier and cannot want to get them on feet. 34 is starting off nicely.

I already made a post today, but my birthday starts in 20 minutes so I’m going to do what the hell I want to do.

- I cannot get over this color.

Something about it, it’s just like the most perfect and standoutjsh color of pink I’ve ever seen. “Hyper Pink” is what the official name of it is, I love it, and for over 50% off, it was a steal.

The Indiana Pair, the Rookie of the Year, & the signature sneaker.

Sure, Caitlin Clark is a superstar and it’s awesome to see her success, but what makes me really happy about all of this, is that it makes me feel, or reminds me rather, that all of this sneaker stuff started with basketball.

At one point or another, most of us who at our age enjoy sneakers, more likely than not - started out with an affinity for rhe NBA. Some of my earliest sports memories were cheering for the Lakers & having dreams as a fat, short, Mexican kid, going to the NBA.

Sure I gradually moved on to falling in love with what the players had on their feet, but it all started out with a love of the game. There was the dream, the countless hours on the blacktop, watching highlights and NBA games, rooting for Shaq & Kobe, and then came the sneakers.

I’m extremely thankful that my parents - who were not huge NBA fans- would read the newspaper before I woke up to see how the lakers did the night before, just to be able to talk with me about them, so we could share something together.

The point of it is that we all started somewhere on this journey of collecting, enjoying, discussing and being enthusiastic about sneakers. I would be willing to wager that a great deal of us started with a love for Basketball; and going forward, I think Caitlin Clark is one of many in this next generation of stars that with her play and with her sneakers, will continue to push that conversation and that enthusiasm forward as well.

A lot of people really liked my Bred XI post the other day, so I thought I’d bring these out. In my opinion, the Cool Gray XI is THE MOST important snd influential sneaker post 2001.

They were the worlds introduction to a sneaker that was amazing on court, but really, really looked fantastic off court. The sneaker world indeed went crazy, and I know the @instyleshoes1999 guys have a story or two about it.

Personally, I remember the first time seeing them in person was high school. @mykeytaughtme had a pair, and I swear they were the coolest thing I had ever ever seen. Mikey was the man with sneakers back then, he had all the crazy SB’s too, and he’s still a buddy of mine I enjoy talking to sneakers about too.

Air Jordan XI “Bred”/“Playoff”

Originally released in 1996, there are still debates to this day if this is the best colorway of the original 3 (Concord, Columbia, Playoff”.

What isn’t debated is how special these are, commonly being named as the answer to ever popular, “what’s your favorite Jordan question”.

I’m still impressed when I pull these out the box. I’m still careful when I wear them, and still easily able to catch people looking down at my feet.

Many fans call this pair “perfect”, and personally, I cannot seem to find any flaws or anything that I dislike about the sneaker. They are one of those pairs that no matter when they release, I’m buying multiple pairs each time. They’re a definite Tinker Hatfield masterpiece.

We’re getting the Eminem 4’s for the first time.

Opinions will be had, debates will begin, arguments can occur. One thing we’re not going to do is be stupid about it.

I saw a clip from a prominent shoetuber discussing how this release is whatever, how it’s not a big deal, and how they were not excited and have never been impressed by this sneaker.

…..

Yeah okay, look. Obviously people will do what they have to do to separate themselves from others when it comes to creating content, but one thing I think is imperative as someone with a voice, is to always remain humble and have honesty & integrity when sharing my opinion on anything.

When you see someone flat out lying about a pair of sneakers (as if it’s that serious)…yeah don’t do that.

Air Jordan VIII Black/Chrome

Originally released in 2003, they were most memorable to me because Kobe wore them during his sneaker free agency.

Much like the True Blue 3’s & Concords (for me anyways), certain pairs are forever associated with Kobe. I buy them because Kobe wore them, and they’re even more special to me because Kobe wore them in game.

Besides the fact that they go extremely well with a Raider jersey, to me they’re forever Kobe’s 8’s, and I’m extremely glad to have them because of it.

George, George, George of the Jungle…..

So most people remember Pippen wearing these, so much so that they’re informally called the Pippen’s. However, I was 4 in 96, so my recollection of these actually is tied to something very different. (Slide 2)

When I was a very, very young child, my Dad @pbrubalcaba took me to go see George of the Jungle in theatres, and there’s a scene where the love interest in the movie, Ursula, gets kidnapped. George gets a pair of Uptempo’s, puts them on, and runs across Africa to go save her.

I remember seeing that scene, even as a kid, and just knowing. Something in me just knew, before being called a “sneakerhead”, before the releases, before camping out, hype releases, etc., I knew I wanted these.

And that’s what it’s all about, that’s how it started for me. Just a kid seeing a cool ass pair of shoes, and it’s only grown from there.
